The Family I grew up in

Recently while in the midst of naming baby #5, it made me think back to my brothers and sisters our names, and nicknames. It made me realize just how unusual our names actually were, even for our urban nabe of [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u].
Check it:
(from oldest to youngest)

[name_u]Ren[/name_u] [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] [name_u]Finch[/name_u] [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] “RV”-twin brother
[name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Boheme[/name_f] [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] “[name_f]Emme[/name_f]”-ME
[name_m]Foster[/name_m] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_u]Scout[/name_u] [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] “[name_u]Scout[/name_u]”- sister
[name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Julian[/name_m] [name_m]Rocket[/name_m] [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] “Juj”-brother
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Plum[/name_f] [name_m]Ramone[/name_m] [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] “[name_f]Plum[/name_f]” or “[name_f]Gigi[/name_f]”-sister
[name_m]Ringo[/name_m] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] “[name_m]Ringo[/name_m]”-sister
[name_m]Lennon[/name_m] [name_m]Arnold[/name_m] [name_u]Reid[/name_u] [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] “[name_m]Lennon[/name_m]” -brother, twin to [name_u]Rex[/name_u]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Samson[/name_m] [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] “[name_u]Rex[/name_u]”- brother, twin to [name_m]Lennon[/name_m]

My Parents:
[name_m]Soren[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] [name_u]Sky[/name_u] [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] “Viper”-my father
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_u]Julianne[/name_u] [name_m]Nolan[/name_m]-[name_u]Vesper[/name_u]-my mother

Now I think we might of been born into an early generation of names, or maybe my parents are just awesome.
What kind of names/nicknames were odd in your family?

You have some pretty cool and unusual names there!!

I love that your parents put so much creativity and obvious thought into the naming of their children! I know that my parents were also very thoughtful about my and my biological siblings’ names, but ours are much more traditional: [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] (me), [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f], [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m], and [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Robert[/name_m]. I also have brothers [name_m]Fredrick[/name_m] and [name_u]Gene[/name_u].

[name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Boheme[/name_f] nn [name_f]Emme[/name_f] is incredibly beautiful. Not to sidetrack your thread, but do you happen to know why your parents chose two middle names for some siblings and only one middle name for others? I’m always curious about the reasoning behind that.

Oh wow… I love them. Really cool/unusual names… but they WORK!

Thanks! My youngest sister would say Ark instead of [name_f]Lark[/name_f], and [name_f]Emme[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Boheme[/name_f], so is tuck with [name_f]Emme[/name_f]! Also its funny you ask about our middle names because as I child I asked my parents the same question. There reply to my eleven year old self was this: “Well we knew what kids were going to need a back up in life, and which ones were going to be one-of-a-kind.” (My father) and “For some it sounds complete with teo, and some do just fine with one. You can tell a lot about there futures when they either one or two names.” (my mother). Clearly, my parents were/are/have always been choosy of their children, and what is panned out for them. Honestly, I couldn’t tell why my parents thought this way about their own kids, but I could name the #1 favorite to the “unmentionable” one  [name_m]Just[/name_m] kidding. My parents love all their kids & grandkids.

My Dad’s side is 100% Norwegian so my Grandpa was Hartvig (nn: [name_m]Hart[/name_m]) and he had brothers: [name_u]Oberon[/name_u] & [name_m]Hjalmer[/name_m] & Olander ([name_m]Ted[/name_m]). He also had more normal sounding siblings: [name_f]Anne[/name_f], [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_m]Rodney[/name_m] but I always liked the strong Scandinavian sounding names!

Everyone in my family has pretty dull names… me and my siblings are [name_m]Chance[/name_m], [name_f]Mikayla[/name_f] (me) and [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u].

My youngest sister is [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Plum[/name_f]! [name_f]Love[/name_f] your family’s names

This was a troll poster, just so you know.

Your names are confusing. Back in [name_u]August[/name_u] you were looking for names to match a sibset similar to the one you have listed here as your own:

And whose sibset was that supposed to be anyway? [name_m]Aren[/name_m]'t your children named [name_f]Florence[/name_f], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], and [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]?

I don’t know. Your family’s names are really creative. I’m just not so sure it all makes sense.

Well… My family is nowhere near as unique.

My mum- [name_f]Misty[/name_f] [name_f]Dawn[/name_f]
My papa- [name_m]Ross[/name_m] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] [name_m]Jr[/name_m].

Me- [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] [name_f]Susanne[/name_f], I occasionally am either called Booga, or [name_u]Bay[/name_u]
My little brother- [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m], occasionally called [name_u]Spence[/name_u]
My little sister- [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], sometimes called Haydee or Haydee-Who
My youngest sister- [name_f]Mia[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u], again, ocasionally called [name_f]Mia[/name_f] Moose, Meehaw or Moosker

Yeah, I’m pretty sure this family is fictional. 8 kids, two sets of twins, these names including a [name_m]Lennon[/name_m] and a [name_m]Ringo[/name_m]??
