Oh and feel free to comment, whether positive or negative, I always appreciate people’s opinions on this site!
While I prefer the name [name]Leo[/name], I think [name]Asher[/name] and [name]Avery[/name] flow better as a sibset
1 [name]Leo[/name] [name]Jude[/name]
2 [name]Leo[/name] Francois
3 [name]Asher[/name] [name]Leo[/name]
4 [name]Connor[/name] [name]Leo[/name]
[name]Avery[/name] [name]Marie[/name] and [name]Asher[/name] [name]Leo[/name] are simply perfect together
[name]Asher[/name] [name]Leo[/name] seems to go best with [name]Avery[/name] [name]Marie[/name] both in terms of fn/mn styles and in terms of sound ([name]Asher[/name] and [name]Avery[/name]). Seems like they were made to be siblings.
[name]Asher[/name] [name]Leo[/name] got my vote–I just love it! I adore [name]Ash[/name] as a nn for a boy, too. I’m not sure [name]Avery[/name] and [name]Asher[/name] are a great stylistic match, though, although I’m obviously in the minority. I think [name]Avery[/name] [name]Marie[/name] and [name]Leo[/name] [name]Jude[/name] is a bit better of a match, and I really love [name]Leo[/name], so that was my second vote.
[name]Avery[/name] and [name]Connor[/name] are the best match stylistically. I voted for [name]Connor[/name] [name]Leo[/name]. I cannot imagine meeting a little girl named [name]Avery[/name] with a brother named [name]Asher[/name] or [name]Leo[/name].
I voted for [name]Connor[/name] as it is a handsome name and works with [name]Avery[/name] and would be more my style.
I thought you had [name]Leo[/name] [name]Francis[/name] at first and I liked that combo and that would be my second choice.
rollo
[name]Leo[/name] Francois gets my vote. Not only do I really like [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Avery[/name] together, I like how brother and sister would share the subtle connection of a French middle name.
I don’t care for [name]Asher[/name] for you since [name]Avery[/name] already starts with an A, and the two names feel sort of mismatched stylistically. [name]Connor[/name] is okay, and would be my second choice, but I just don’t like it as much as [name]Leo[/name].
I like [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Avery[/name] together. While I quite like the name [name]Asher[/name], [name]Asher[/name] and [name]Avery[/name] seem too similar to me.
I voted [name]Leo[/name] Francois, I like the traditional feel of it. [name]Leo[/name] [name]Jude[/name] would be my next pick but it seems to short.
So for those who don’t think [name]Asher[/name] matches well with [name]Avery[/name], stylistically, is this primarily because [name]Asher[/name] is biblical, and [name]Avery[/name] isn’t or because they both start with the letter ‘A’, or how they sound together? I personally think [name]Leo[/name] actually flows better with name [name]Avery[/name], but my partner prefers the name [name]Asher[/name]…
Hmm. I’m actually not sure what it is. It’s not that [name]Asher[/name] is Biblical and [name]Avery[/name] isn’t… Some alliteration works (like [name]Emilia[/name] and [name]Elliot[/name], imo), while some doesn’t (like [name]Nolan[/name] and [name]Nevaeh[/name]). I just think some alliteration sounds and looks and works better together than others. I’m torn, because both [name]Asher[/name] and [name]Avery[/name] are on my short boys’ list, but I really can’t imagine using them together. The only way that I know how to put this is: [name]Avery[/name] is to fiction as [name]Asher[/name] is to nonfiction. It probably doesn’t make a lot of sense, but I was a writing student, am currently looking for a writing/editing position, and writing means everything to me, so I guess I just relate names to writing? Anyway, what I mean is that when I think of [name]Avery[/name], I think of something I would find in a piece of fiction (maybe moreso my fiction than someone else’s novel I would read)–it just seems very sweet, a bit happily-ever-after… it reminds me of how fiction is more idealized than real life. But then [name]Asher[/name] seems very real and grounded to me, realistic, happy, but how life really is, strong, and just a bit classic. Maybe it’s because [name]Avery[/name] is a bit trendier than [name]Asher[/name]. I don’t know. Maybe I’m not making an ounce of sense. lol. That’s just how my brain looks at it.
I know, I have a very weird brain. lol.
[name]Leo[/name] [name]Jude[/name] all the way!
[name]Asher[/name] is also nice, I just like [name]Leo[/name] better.
@ ashthedreamer - that actually makes a lot of sense to me, I had never thought of it that way, and I am now questioning whether any of my choices are ideal with [name]Avery[/name]. Hmm, maybe I should have posted a question asking people what names they think would go well with her name to get new/fresh ideas, even though I honestly feel like I have looked at every possible name (this site does that to me)! Thanks for your thoughts!!
[name]Leo[/name] Francois got my vote. [name]Leo[/name] [name]Jude[/name] just sounds too pop culture, like 20 years from now it will like “oh–you must have been born in the early part of the 21st century…” Whereas, [name]Leo[/name] Francois sounds timeless. I also love how it gives both children French middle names.
I like the combination [name]Connor[/name] [name]Jude[/name], but if you want to keep [name]Leo[/name] somewhere in the name then I would definitely pick [name]Connor[/name] [name]Leo[/name]. The other names just aren’t my style and [name]Connor[/name] is a great name!
I think that having a Francois French in your name is…redundant? I mean the sounds begin similarly and it for whatever reason feels odd to have a French name before the word French. Like [name]Giovanni[/name] Italian. There’s something a little characterish to me about it. Sorry.
I had a hard time deciding between [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Connor[/name], but in the end I went with [name]Connor[/name].
@ neuilly: The last name is of french origin…not actually “French”…I wasn’t very clear
I love [name]Connor[/name] [name]Leo[/name].
