the finale!

Hello berries,

Pregnant much sooner than expected with my final little guy/gal.
For a boy we’re pretty decided on the name [name_m]Oisin[/name_m] (or, alternatively [name_m]Wilfred[/name_m], nickname Wilf)

On the girls side, however, much less decided.
I posted a few months ago and got some great feedback.
On the first names list so far we have:
[name_f]Dulcie[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] ([name_f]Liv[/name_f])
[name_f]Alberta[/name_f]/[name_f]Alba[/name_f]
[name_f]Isolde[/name_f]/[name_f]Iseult[/name_f]
[name_f]Juno[/name_f]

Middle names: [name_f]Saskia[/name_f], [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Marianne[/name_f], [name_f]Myrtle[/name_f], [name_f]Joan[/name_f]

I would really love comments, or suggestions- particularly suggestions re names we might not have thought of, those more unusual or offbeat choices which slip under the radar.

Take care, all!

I really love [name_f]Dulcie[/name_f] and [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]. One name that comes to mind based on your middles is [name_f]Myrna[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Isolde[/name_f], [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] and [name_f]Willa[/name_f]! I also like [name_f]Dulcie[/name_f], though I prefer the Spanish [name_f]Dulce[/name_f].

Other names you might like:

[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] - Seems to be in a similar vein as some of your list.
[name_f]Dulce[/name_f] - As mentioned. Also, [name_f]Dulcinea[/name_f].
[name_f]Lovisa[/name_f] - The Scandinavian form of [name_f]Louise[/name_f]; really lovely and has a similar sound to [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f].
[name_f]Prisca[/name_f] - Again, reminds me of some of your other choices. Much better than [name_f]Priscilla[/name_f] to me.

Good luck!

I really love [name_f]Isolde[/name_f]/[name_f]Iseult[/name_f] & [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]!

Some other suggestions

[name_f]Eliora[/name_f]
[name_f]Augusta[/name_f]
[name_f]Eudora[/name_f]
[name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Honora[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] and [name_f]Juno[/name_f]!

[name_f]Isolde[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] or [name_f]Juno[/name_f] [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] would be gorgeous.

Suggestions: [name_f]Cassia[/name_f], [name_f]Jonquil[/name_f], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Roisin[/name_f], [name_f]Liora[/name_f]/[name_f]Leora[/name_f].

[name_f]Juno[/name_f] [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] does sound beautiful.

Of the suggestions I really love [name_f]Eudora[/name_f]. Definitely one to think about.

I also love [name_f]Ida[/name_f]-- I know it’s very old fashioned by a lot of people’s tastes, but I think it’s both elegant AND clunky, and has a bit of spunk about it.

[name_f]Alberta[/name_f] is off the list, as two of my friends now have baby [name_m]Alberts[/name_m], and it is just too close since we spend a lot of time with them.

My reservations about [name_f]Juno[/name_f] are still that the film is everyone’s first point of reference. Problem/not a problem?

[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] [name_f]Myrtle[/name_f] would be lovely with your childrens names!

[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] [name_f]Isolde[/name_f]!

Any opinions on [name_f]Ida[/name_f]?

Dying to know if it really is just us who like it!

You and I are choosing from the same page if the name book - [name_m]Wilfred[/name_m] is right at the top of our list if we have a boy and is one of two left in contention along with [name_m]Rufus[/name_m].

I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]Ida[/name_f]. It’s strong, cool and elegant at the same time which is no mean feat. From your original list I [name_f]ADORE[/name_f] [name_f]Iseult[/name_f]/[name_f]Isolde[/name_f] and wanted it for my own so, so badly before OH vetoed. As such I’d be really happy to hear that someone else had used it.

In terms of combos I’m drawn towards [name_f]Iseult[/name_f] [name_f]Ida[/name_f]/[name_f]Ida[/name_f] [name_f]Iseult[/name_f] or [name_f]Juno[/name_f] [name_f]Isolde[/name_f]. [name_f]IMO[/name_f] [name_f]Iseult[/name_f] and [name_f]Ida[/name_f] sit more happily with your other children’s names than [name_f]Juno[/name_f].

Good luck!

Although [name_f]Ida[/name_f] is not usually a name I like, I do think it has a similar feel to [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]. I can definitely see an [name_f]Ida[/name_f] in your family. Although I love [name_f]Juno[/name_f], I would remove it from contention because of [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]'s middle name [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]. To me they are too similar (if I ever had a [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] I would call her [name_f]Juno[/name_f]). I like [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] on your list, also [name_f]Iseult[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] best from your list, followed by [name_f]Juno[/name_f]. The others are okay, although [name_f]Dulcie[/name_f] feels way too cutesy in the sibset for my taste. I’d choose [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f], or [name_f]Juno[/name_f] [name_f]Saskia[/name_f]. That last one just works so well as a combo!

I like [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_f]Isolde[/name_f], and from your middle names options I like [name_f]Saskia[/name_f], [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. As for [name_f]Ida[/name_f], I prefer [name_f]Ada[/name_f] to [name_f]Ida[/name_f] (I’d a…).
What about [name_f]Edith[/name_f] or [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]?

[name_f]Dulcie[/name_f], [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] or [name_f]Alberta[/name_f] would just be perfect! They’re all such beautiful and underused names with a vintage-cool feel that your other children’s names have.

I don’t think [name_f]Juno[/name_f] goes particularly well, but only because it’s so exotic and bold, I think something more soft old lady would sound best.

I love [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] & [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] the most but all the names you have are beautiful!

Perhaps…
[name_f]Ilona[/name_f]
[name_f]Ione[/name_f]
[name_f]Xanthe[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabeau[/name_f]
[name_f]Tatiana[/name_f]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_f]Indigo[/name_f]
[name_u]Sky[/name_u]
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f]/[name_f]Caecilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Saoirse[/name_f]

[name_f]Isolde[/name_f] and [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] are my favorites. Here are a few others:

[name_f]Lenore[/name_f]
[name_f]Bernadine[/name_f]
[name_f]Elspeth[/name_f]
Liliwen
[name_f]Georgina[/name_f]
[name_f]Lavender[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyda[/name_f]
[name_f]Lottie[/name_f]

This is all v useful:
I’m surprised and pleased that [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] is getting so much approval.
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] is an old favourite but feels much more usable now than it did in my first pregnancy (when I first churned it out during this process)
My reservation then which continues, is the lack of nicknames.
Can anyone think of any but [name_u]Vinnie[/name_u]?

We’re divided on the [name_f]Alba[/name_f]/[name_f]Alberta[/name_f] question at the moment.
I am attached to [name_f]Alberta[/name_f] increasingly, but he likes plain [name_f]Alba[/name_f] better.
Does [name_f]Alba[/name_f] feel like a substantial enough name to everyone else? It has something missing for me, somehow.

I think [name_f]Lyda[/name_f] is beautiful! Prn [name_u]Lee[/name_u]-da?
Probably more of a ‘really like’ than an ‘I wanna name my child this’ but still! Good list.
The one I seriously like is Liliwen. Can I ask the origin? Its
very graceful…gentle sounding.

Thanks to everyone who responded!
