I think this is a beautiful name, but that is the name of the mother to [name_m]Jax[/name_m] on [name_m]Son[/name_m]'s of Anarchy. She was a very complicated character in that show, and I don’t know if it would make everyone think negatively about that name. Would you think of SOA if you heard it on the street?
I really like it, but I don’t particularly want people to think of [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] Teller Morrow when they hear it.
I think of St [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] Calgani as well as a couple of British actresses with the name. I don’t watch much TV so that’s not an issue for me. Sons of Anarchy isn’t exactly a top show, is it?
I have never seen Sons of Anarchy, but I do know that it is a popular show. I don’t believe that people will necessarily think of Sons of Anarchy when they hear the name [name_f]Gemma[/name_f]. When I hear the name I think of [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] [name_f]Di[/name_f] Manetto [name_m]Donati[/name_m] ([name_m]Dante[/name_m] Alighieri’s wife), [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] Styles ([name_m]Harry[/name_m] Styles older sister), and [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] Arterton (British actress)
It is definitely a good thing that no one, so far, has seen it! Things are looking up! [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t get me wrong, I love that show, but I didn’t want it to ruin the name [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] for me. As long as most people don’t connect it to that, then I’m totally fine with keeping it as a strong possibility. Thanks everyone!
I’ve never even heard of the show… If the association w/a not-so-positive character is a concern, would changing G to J help, so that instead of [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], it would be [name_f]Jemma[/name_f]?
