The last leg- bit of help making the final choice?

[name]Winston[/name] [name]Sage[/name] [name]Hugo[/name]
[name]Winston[/name] [name]Indio[/name] [name]George[/name]
[name]Sullivan[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Jupiter[/name]

[name]Thea[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Clover[/name]/[name]Cleo[/name]
[name]Edith[/name] [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Cosima[/name] ([name]Edie[/name])
[name]Edith[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Lucy[/name] ([name]Edie[/name])
[name]Jemima[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Clover[/name]/[name]Cleo[/name]

This is our final list, and it hasn’t seemed to shift or trickle down in number for a while now.
Which are your favourites/least favourites, and how would you imagine someone with any of the above names above to be?

Thanks,

[name]Denny[/name] x

I love [name]Winston[/name] better with [name]Tobias[/name] and [name]Mabel[/name]. It has the same vintage charm that [name]Sullivan[/name] lacks. Now, my dilemma: I love [name]Hugo[/name] but I’m not crazy about [name]Sage[/name] and I like [name]George[/name] but not [name]Indio[/name]. If we can mix it up, what about [name]Winston[/name] [name]George[/name] [name]Hugo[/name]? You have some lovely names on your girls list but I have a soft spot for [name]Edith[/name] and I think [name]Tobias[/name], [name]Mabel[/name] and [name]Edith[/name] are a wonderful trio! I’ll go for [name]Edith[/name] [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name] (I’m afraid I switched the two middles around. [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name] flows better to me than [name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Lucy[/name]).

[name]Winston[/name] has the possibility of being a really
Cool or really nerdy guy which I like

[name]Sullivan[/name] is alright to be frank (sorry!) I don’t think he’d be very handsome

[name]Thea[/name]-
BEUATIFUL dark haired girl. [name]Love[/name] this!

[name]Edith[/name] sounds very old to me and [name]Jemima[/name] is hard to pronounce
If I must say, I like these better:
[name]Thea[/name] [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Clover[/name]
[name]Winston[/name] [name]Jupiter[/name] [name]Sage[/name]

Good luck on the names!

Of your combos, I like [name]Winston[/name] [name]Sage[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] best, but if I could mix my own it would be [name]Winston[/name] [name]Jupiter[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] or [name]Winston[/name] [name]Indio[/name] [name]Sage[/name].
I like [name]Sullivan[/name], but [name]Winston[/name] has more of the vintage charm to go with [name]Tobias[/name] and [name]Mabel[/name]. [name]Donavan[/name] is a better fit, since he’s a little more musty (in a good way :). [name]Donovan[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Jupiter[/name] is good.

By the way, have you considered the similarities between [name]Juniper[/name] and [name]Jupiter[/name]? I’m not sure I personally could have them both in a sibset, even as middle names.

I like [name]Edith[/name] [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Cosima[/name] best from your girls, but [name]Edith[/name] [name]Cosima[/name] [name]Cleo[/name] would be my personal favourite if I could mix it up a little.
[name]Jemima[/name] has never been a favourite for me, but I usually don’t like J names, probably because they are so popular and the J sound is a little harsh to me. (in my native tongue, all J’s are pronounced like Y, so it’s one of the more troubling differences.) [name]Thea[/name] seems a little ordinary/modern, and you already have [name]Tobias[/name]. [name]Tessa[/name] would be a better fit stylistically, but that has both the T and S from [name]Tobias[/name], so it might be a bit much with both. I’m also reminded of [name]Blythe[/name]. [name]Blythe[/name] [name]Cleo[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] would be wonderful

I don’t like imagining personalities for names, since my imaginings for the same name might differ from day to day, so sorry I can’t help you there…

Best of luck!

(I just saw I used vintage charm just like [name]Mischa[/name] to describe the differences between [name]Winston[/name] and [name]Sullivan[/name] XD Strange how these name idioms creep up on you!)

[name]Winston[/name] [name]Sage[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] - Though [name]Winston[/name] is not to my taste, I like this. It’s not as adventurous as your other combos though, so comparitively it seems a little plain. Not sure if that’s just because you’ve got it next to some really unusual names

[name]Winston[/name] [name]Indio[/name] [name]George[/name] - [name]Indio[/name]? [name]Haven[/name]'t heard that before, it’s interesting  This is cute, but again seems quite plain to me. Maybe it’s just because I’m not a huge fan of [name]Winston[/name], it seems very heavy and dated to me.

[name]Sullivan[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Jupiter[/name] - I wish I could love [name]Sullivan[/name], it is quite handsome! [name]Just[/name] can’t get the Monsters Inc association out of my head. Still, this is goreous. I think it’s great with [name]Tobias[/name] and [name]Mabel[/name]. My only issue is [name]Jupiter[/name], as it’s very similar to [name]Juniper[/name]. I know you say these are set, but I think it would be just a little better if it was switched to [name]Sullivan[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Sage[/name]/[name]George[/name], that way it doesn’t overshadow your girls name.

[name]Thea[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Clover[/name]/[name]Cleo[/name] - I do adore this, but I think it would be nicer to avoid siblings sharing first initials. So for that reason, I’d give this a miss.

[name]Edith[/name] [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Cosima[/name] ([name]Edie[/name]) - Stylistically, this is perfect with [name]Mabel[/name] and [name]Tobias[/name], though I think [name]Edith[/name] would be a little predictable. That may not bother you though! [name]Cosima[/name] is gorgeous, and has the same lovely unique feel that [name]Rowley[/name] and [name]Juniper[/name] do, while [name]Lucy[/name] is more vintage classic like [name]Quentin[/name] and [name]Elsie[/name].

[name]Edith[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Lucy[/name] ([name]Edie[/name]) - Very lovely, but I think I prefer [name]Cosima[/name] over [name]Cordelia[/name] in the potential sibling set. [name]Just[/name] doesn’t seem to fit as well.

[name]Jemima[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Clover[/name]/[name]Cleo[/name] - This is my favourite. It’s amazing with [name]Tobias[/name] and [name]Mabel[/name], and the middles are gorgeous. I’d go for [name]Cleo[/name] over [name]Clover[/name], it’s just that bit more spunky in my opinion.

Good luck, whatever you do! You have lovely taste

[name]Sullivan[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] for the boy name. I adore [name]Sullivan[/name] and I think the nn Sulli is awesome. I picture someone who is a class favorite with this name… sensitive yet funny.

[name]Thea[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Clover[/name] is my fav for the girls names. I think [name]Thea[/name] is the right amount of cute and sophisticated. It is memorable. And [name]Clover[/name] is just so lovable! I picture her to be creative, sweet, but with a strong backbone!

Fantastic choices! My votes go to [name]Winston[/name] [name]Indio[/name] [name]George[/name] and [name]Edith[/name] [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Cosima[/name].

[name]Winston[/name] [name]Sage[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] - I like [name]Winston[/name], really like [name]Hugo[/name], but [name]Sage[/name] doesn’t seem to fit
[name]Winston[/name] [name]Indio[/name] [name]George[/name] - I like [name]Winston[/name], [name]George[/name] is okay, [name]Indio[/name] doesn’t seem right.
[name]Sullivan[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Jupiter[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Sullivan[/name], really like [name]Hugo[/name], and I think I like [name]Jupiter[/name]. DEFINITELY my favorite

[name]Thea[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Clover[/name]/[name]Cleo[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Thea[/name]. And I really like [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Cleo[/name]. [name]Thea[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Cleo[/name] is definitely my favorite.
[name]Edith[/name] [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Cosima[/name] ([name]Edie[/name]) - Not a fan of [name]Edie[/name]/[name]Edith[/name] or [name]Cosima[/name], but I do really like [name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Edith[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Lucy[/name] ([name]Edie[/name]) - Same as above (not a fan of [name]Edith[/name] or [name]Cordelia[/name] but I like [name]Lucy[/name])
[name]Jemima[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Clover[/name]/[name]Cleo[/name] - I like [name]Cleo[/name] and [name]Catherine[/name], but [name]Jemima[/name] is just horrible to me (no offense)

I like [name]Winston[/name] [name]Sage[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] (but would like it better [name]Winston[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Sage[/name]) and I can imagine this guy being kind of nerdy, but also really friendly and cool too.

I like [name]Thea[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Clover[/name] and see this girl being the creative, artistic type (I think maybe a musician) with lots of friends.

[name]Hi[/name]

[name]Winston[/name] [name]Indio[/name] [name]George[/name] does it for me! He is a get up and go character with the [name]Indio[/name] giving him lots of charm and the [name]George[/name] giving him lots of common sense. I also like [name]Indio[/name] [name]Winston[/name] [name]George[/name]. [name]Winston[/name] is a fabulous name glad to see it on a short list.

[name]Jemima[/name] is one of my absolute favourite names and I love the nn of [name]Mimi[/name] (mim ee) [name]Jemima[/name] is very sweet and feminine and [name]Mimi[/name] is all girl and very busy.

I like the combo of [name]Jemima[/name] [name]Clover[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] I think the L in [name]Clover[/name] in the middle gives it better flow.

I like [name]Edith[/name] [name]Cosima[/name] [name]Lucy[/name] and it makes a good sibset with [name]Mabel[/name] too and again I have rearranged the combo. I think of an [name]Edith[/name] as being quite plain but [name]Cosima[/name] gives her a facelift and [name]Lucy[/name] gives her lots of cheekiness.

I need to rearrange the combos for imo better flow eg

[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Jupiter[/name] [name]Sullivan[/name] (smalll problem [name]Jupiter[/name] is very close to [name]Juniper[/name] so I would have a rethink about this one) eg I suggest a comobo of [name]Sullivan[/name] [name]Jasper[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] which still gives you a nature theme which it appears you like.

[name]Winston[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Sage[/name] is my combo for flow

[name]Thea[/name] [name]Cleo[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] or [name]Thea[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Clover[/name] [name]Thea[/name] is a straight forward no nonsense type who tends to be a bit bossy I would go with [name]Tessa[/name] instead as she is more laid back and sporty.

[name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Daisy[/name] [name]Ruth[/name] (can’t have [name]Daisy[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] in the same combo) but I like [name]Cordelia[/name] and [name]Daisy[/name] very much. [name]Cordelia[/name] is willowy and calm and pretty and yet she has lots of personality and humour too.

rollo

PS I see dantea likes the [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Sage[/name] combo better than [name]Winston[/name] [name]Sage[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] too.

Hello! Thrilled with all the speedy responses.
First thing- the reason for [name]Jupiter[/name] is more of a silly family thing than anything else. It is too close to [name]Juniper[/name], but just has personal ties (name of my parents’ beloved cat when I was growing up, and was the alias I gave as a joke on various occasions)
Anyway though, it might niggle at me to use it. I am in two minds- I love the personal touch it has, but then I am very fastidious about the symmetry of names. So what can a girl do!

The replies have cleared up a lot for me- I found myself mentally defending some names more than others in response to your thoughts and ideas, which was interesting. Need to talk to my partner about things, but I find myself erring toward:
[name]Edith[/name] [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Cosima[/name]
[name]Thea[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Cleo[/name]

For the boys side, I have to confess, I don’t feel ‘in love’ with either name. I think I want something between them both. I agree with genevie’s comments, on the one hand: I do find [name]Winston[/name] a little heavy at times. On the other hand I like his ‘vintage charm’. [name]Sullivan[/name] I think is a little more ‘class favourite’, as shutterbuglove puts it. It’s fun, upbeat.
I want a bit of both, I think.
Desperate last minute bid here but: Any suggestions from any of you posters?

Thanks,

[name]Denny[/name] x

ps. genevie, I love the [name]Sullivan[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Sage[/name] idea, have to say. The flow is just my cup of tea

I think [name]Winston[/name] will go well with [name]Tobias[/name] and [name]Mabel[/name] but agree with the change to [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Sage[/name] noted above, so my favorite for a boy is [name]Winston[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Sage[/name].

I like [name]Edith[/name] [name]Cosima[/name]/[name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Lucy[/name] best for the girl’s name because I think [name]Edith[/name] nn [name]Edie[/name] is an underused classic that I really like and I love the name [name]Lucy[/name]. This is a hard choice though because I think your [name]Jemima[/name] combination would work well with the sibset too (the long I and M allude to [name]Tobias[/name] and [name]Mabel[/name]).

All in all though, I agree that you have some lovely name choices here.

My favorite from your boys’ list is [name]Winston[/name] [name]Indio[/name] [name]George[/name]! Gorgeous name, I think it has exactly the right amount of quirky-traditional, intelligent, and classic mixed with a fresh, unexpected, genuinely unique twist. I could see someone named [name]Winston[/name] being anything from the valedictorian to the best athlete (although probably at lacrosse or swimming/diving than something like football). Dark brown to dirty blonde hair, handsome, with a leaner athletic build, more like a runner than a bodybuilder if you kwim.

Close second for boys would be [name]Sullivan[/name] [name]Jupiter[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] - I prefer the mns in this order, I think it has better flow but I don’t know your ln either, so that’s without taking the surname into account.

My favorite for a girl would be [name]Edith[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Lucy[/name] ([name]Edie[/name]). This is so stunning and vintage. Elegant in the same vein as Old Hollywood glamour. I think the unique vintage first name and middle name with the timeless [name]Lucy[/name] is perfect, plus you get that little added bit of spunk with the cute, but not cutesy nickname [name]Edie[/name]. I see an [name]Edie[/name] being dark-haired and creative or studious, definitely someone artsy with a unique sense of style and a lot of confidence. Someone slender, willowy and striking to look at, maybe not movie-star gorgeous but still beautiful.

Second place for girls would be [name]Thea[/name] [name]Clover[/name] [name]Catherine[/name], again I think the mns flow slightly better this way but without the surname I can’t be sure. [name]Just[/name] my opinion.

[name]Hi[/name] britishmama,

I have an inkling that my open assessment of a couple of the names may have offended you, sorry if that is the case. I guess if my choices had been labelled plain and bossy then I may have been feeling defensive too.

I have long memories of Ediths and Theas and as yet I haven’t been able to fall in love with them. I think I prefer [name]Thea[/name] although her full name for me would be [name]Anthea[/name].

Seeing as you have a special reason for [name]Jupiter[/name] then that overides other suggestions.

For a boy’s name I think [name]Rupert[/name] would be just right. It is one of my favourites. [name]Rupert[/name] [name]Indio[/name] [name]George[/name].

[name]Rupert[/name], [name]Tobias[/name] and [name]Mabel[/name].

rollo

[name]Winston[/name] [name]Indio[/name] [name]George[/name] - awesome choices! I love [name]Indio[/name] and don’t mind that [name]Robert[/name] Downey [name]Jr[/name] used it. [name]Sage[/name] screams feminine to me.

[name]Jemima[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Clover[/name] - not a fan of [name]Catherine[/name], but this is my fav from those you listed. [name]Jemima[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Clover[/name] sounds much more appealing to me. [name]Thea[/name] and [name]Tobias[/name] don’t sound ideal. I think [name]Cosima[/name], [name]Cordelia[/name] and [name]Clover[/name] would be spectacular in the first name spot (on anyone’s list). [name]Thea[/name] and [name]Cleo[/name] are much too similar for me.

I like a lot of your choices, you have some beautiful names picked out but I still think there is a lot of teasing potential with [name]Jupiter[/name], and if youre in the states Im not sure I would use [name]Jemima[/name], it really brings slavery and syrup to mind (at least for me) but it’s a lovely name.

[name]Thea[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Cleo[/name]

I definitely prefer this to anything involving [name]Edith[/name]. [name]Edith[/name] was my great grandmother who died about 2 years ago. It just seems like a very…old name to me. Nursing homes and all. I don’t envision a cute little girl at all. I do love [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Cosima[/name] though…I just don’t like [name]Edith[/name]. But that’s just me and my opinion. It’s your child, and you have to name your child what seems good to you.
