The letter "R"...

This is sort of an odd observation I’ve recently had–and it could be just me–but it seems that names that start with “R” are getting more popular. At least where I live. There aren’t very many “R” names that are in the top 100, so it’s not specific name, but the letter seems to be everywhere.

My daughter, [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], is almost 2, and at her day-care and friends with kids with the same ages have introduced me to:
[name_u]Reed[/name_u]
[name_u]Reid[/name_u]
[name_u]Remington[/name_u]
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f]
[name_u]Ray[/name_u]
[name_m]Roman[/name_m]
[name_u]Rex[/name_u]
[name_u]Risa[/name_u]
[name_u]Rory[/name_u]
[name_u]Reece[/name_u]
[name_m]Roger[/name_m]

A good friend of mine (who’s kid is about the same age) almost named her son [name_m]Ruben[/name_m], another almost had a [name_m]Robert[/name_m], and another friend plans to have a [name_u]Reagan[/name_u] for her next child regardless of gender. [name_m]Even[/name_m] at the park the other day was a [name_u]Roy[/name_u] and [name_u]Riley[/name_u] who appeared to be around 3-4.

So is it just me, or is “R” the next letter that will catch on even if none of the “R” names makes top 10?

I forgot that two of my cousins each have an “R”:
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f]!

I hope so! Those are some cute names
