The letter you hate

So I started a thread about the letters we are obsessed with, but what letters or combo of letters repel you.

I have a T name and have never really been into T names. It’s a visual thing. I hate the look of a capital script T!

K names & Ys inside of names feel tacky to me (with some exceptions of course)

I also notice my list is lacking D & N names…no strong feelings about them though.

And J names for boys feel maybe a bit dated?

It’s gotta be U, for me. I don’t think there’s a single U name that I don’t dislike. I don’t like Eu- names, either.

O for me. Not sure what it is about O, but there’s not one O name that I’m a fan of.

I like very few K names, partly because I find them trendy and also there’s so many out there that should just begin with a ‘C’ not a ‘K’. I can’t stand seeing [name]Konnor[/name], [name]Katelyn[/name], [name]Kasey[/name], [name]Kole[/name] etc, these names are meant to be begin with a C, which find I much more appealing on the eye. Having said I do have Koa on my list for me and I am kinda smitten with [name]Keegan[/name] but I’d never use it. I have no K girls names at all.

I’ve never really thought about this much before but looking down my lists there are no G or L names for girls, so I guess they don’t appeal to me much.

I also don’t really like K names. There are maybe 2 or 3 for boys or girls. It’s funny because it’s also my first initial. And if it’s a name that can traditionally begin with a K or a C, I almost always prefer a C ([name]Catherine[/name] being the prime example).

I don’t like U or Eu names… W… V… X… Q… I…

Primarily it’s not the letter, but where the letter has been replaced - like Qira instead of [name]Kira[/name] or Ceciliya where Y has been crammed in unnecessarily. I do have an aversion to names with X & Z in too!

Most K names, despite my own name being [name]Kimberly[/name]. They just seen somewhat tacky. Also agreed with extra y’s, most Q, U, P, G, F, and Y names, very very few of them appeal to me.

I don’t like too many K names (especially if they’re suppose to be spelled with a C). I’m not crazy about Y names either.

Again K names don’t appeal to me. Probably because they were so trendy the past couple of decades. I also have very few ‘B’ names on my list especially when it comes to girls, no specific reason though

v, x, k, z and y. Some exceptions with each, but for the most part I really don’t like the vast majority of names with these letters. As with others, mostly when they are used in place of another letter or randomly added in names where they otherwise wouldn’t be, just for the sake of being ‘different’. (This excludes cultural variations of spellings, of course.)

Poor V - it was my least favourite letter until I had a little crush on [name]Genevieve[/name]. Would never use it at start.
Q stands no chance, all I can think of is ‘[name]Queenie[/name]’, not fab for an anti-monarchist!
And K has it tough because I’m a happy-to-be-C-[name]Catherine[/name]. However, I have a soft spot for [name]Kizzy[/name].
Finally, like pp, Eu/U always seems a little ugly too.
Can anyone save them? [name]Will[/name] they be the nameberry faves of the future, when tastes move full circle again? Watch this space

K names and J names (with the exception of [name]Julia[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name] for girls, and [name]Jude[/name] for boys) just don’t do it for me.

K Y and Q. If anything is misspelled it is probably with these letters. [name]Jessiqua[/name] and Makkynzy come to mind…

Im afraid the Kardashians kompletely killed K for me.

Being that my own name begins with a K, this thread saddens me a bit. (Those darn Kardashians!) However, I do despise K names that aren’t meant to start with a K like [name]Khloe[/name] (what is up with people using Kh as a prefix? That’s just ugly and not a real sound!), but legitimate K names don’t bother me. I really don’t like B names, although there are a couple of exceptions. I think the letter B is just ugly. The worst are names that begin (or end with) with [name]Bri[/name] or [name]Bree[/name]. I also don’t care for G names, but I hate the G sound in the middle of a name more than in the beginning. I can’t stand names like [name]Logan[/name] or [name]Keegan[/name]. I also hate the misspelled names that other posters have mentioned. On another board, I actually saw someone considering naming their daughter [name]Prestyn[/name], today. That really annoyed me, especially since I have a son named [name]Preston[/name].

I don’t like K’s either. Most feel trendy to me. Not a huge fan of the hard C or G sound either. R’s bug me, mostly if they are in the middle of the name. And I usually don’t like the U, or W sounds. I’m very picky when it comes to that! Haha

Hate? U. It’s weird and I can’t ‘connect’ with it.

[name]Don[/name]'t care for: Y, X, K and sometimes B. The first three have a cold vibe to me, and B is just…boring.

Also not thrilled with most names starting with C, D, E and F…not sure why other than that they proceed a lot of names I find to be either trendy, frumpy, or insubstantial.

K, Q, U, W, X, and Y don’t appear on any of my favorite lists. Though I would only say I dislike Q, U, and Y

As a rule, I dislike K’s, B’s, J’s and Y’s.
