I agree, the [name_m]Daily[/name_m] Mail can be entertaining (and has good celebrity gossip/pictures), but not the best paper out there…
Like:
[name_m]Bramwell[/name_m]- sounds very handsome and charming, gives off an upper-class-British vibe. Reminds me of [name_m]Branwell[/name_m]- the Brontë sisters had a brother named that.
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f]- totally usable, feminine but spunky and fun. Actually a nice nod to the Olympics while still using an actual name.
[name_m]Perseus[/name_m]- Dashing and handsome. I could imagine a character in a historical romance novel named [name_m]Perseus[/name_m].
Reem- I think of the Lebanese-born fashion designer Reem Acra. And a friend of a friend is named this.
[name_u]Sorrel[/name_u]- cute and usable given all the nature names out there. though I think of the horse colour, most people probably wouldn’t
[name_f]Zelie[/name_f]- This is an actual name, not that strange, though I prefer Azélie- the [name_m]French[/name_m] version of [name_f]Azalea[/name_f]
Usable but NMS:
[name_u]Dallas[/name_u]- not usually a fan of state names
Denley- it sounds similar enough to [name_m]Henley[/name_m] and a host of other actual names
[name_u]London[/name_u]- a common name, though I’ve heard many Londoners find it silly?
[name_u]Porter[/name_u]- nice enough, just NMS
Rosielea- too cutesy and sugary for me, but it’s not that bad- just a smoosh of two totally normal names
[name_m]Tru[/name_m]- I’d prefer it as a nickname for [name_m]Truman[/name_m] or Truett, but if [name_u]Alfie[/name_u] and [name_u]Bertie[/name_u] can be used, why not [name_m]Tru[/name_m]?
[name_m]Tucker[/name_m]- same as [name_u]Porter[/name_u]
What on earth were the parents thinking?!
[name_m]Boden[/name_m]- as in [name_f]Mini[/name_f] [name_m]Boden[/name_m]? [name_f]Do[/name_f] people really need to name their kids after brand names?
Bounty- I just think of the Bounty chocolate bar (not sure if the UK has that)
[name_m]Denton[/name_m]- reminds me of “dental” or “dentist”… NOT a good association!
[name_f]Dior[/name_f]- nice, but again, not fond of brands as names
Drey- what even is this?! nothing but a random conglomeration of letters to me (sorry)
[name_m]Geordie[/name_m]- well, it’s similar to [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_u]Jordan[/name_u], but really?! [name_m]How[/name_m] would Geordies feel about that? If I met someone named Torontonian I’d find it very strange
Lohan- not a great namesake…
[name_m]Luck[/name_m]- this does sound rather cute, but better for a pet
[name_f]Nirvana[/name_f]- nice sound, but a bit too abstract of a concept for a name, no?
[name_m]Nolly[/name_m]- sounds like something from a nursery rhyme
Paradise- nice sound, but a bit pretentious?
Peppa- I didn’t realize the Peppa Pig connection until someone pointed it out, but yeah, not a great namesake
Pepsi- again with the brand/product names
[name_m]Pinky[/name_m]- this sounds like something you’d name a pig. or like the pinky finger?
Puppy- why would anyone
[name_f]Tea[/name_f]- even if this is a legitimate name, products should not be used as names
[name_m]Tiger[/name_m]- My sister actually used to know a [name_m]Tiger[/name_m], and there’s [name_m]Tiger[/name_m] Woods, but I wouldn’t go there
Vogue- again, nice but a bit pretentious
[name_f]Nirvana[/name_f], Paradise, and Vogue actually have a nice sound if I think about it that way, but the associations are just strange.
