I recently saw the name [name_f]Eva[/name_f] scrawled in Olde [name_f]English[/name_f] lettering in a charming historic town and I’ve been bewitched ever since. I love the opening “Eve” syllable (in my accent) and the simple complexity to the name said altogether. It sounds mystical to me!
What are your thoughts? Does [name_f]Eva[/name_f] sound slightly like the word “evil?” And do you prefer [name_f]Ava[/name_f]? Thanks
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] is gorgeous! It’s sleek and pretty, strong but sweet! I think [name_f]Eva[/name_f] is familiar enough that it doesn’t remind me of evil. I prefer it to [name_f]Ava[/name_f] too
I don’t think it sounds like evil at all! I pronounce it “EH-vah” because I know two people named that. I do sort of know one “EE-vuh” too, and I like that as well!
Eva is sweet! I do prefer the eh-va pronuncation, but ee-va is nice too. It strikes me as a trendy classic along the lines of Charlotte and Audrey so I don’t associate it with a specific vibe, like a mystical one. I definitely like Eva more than Ava, though Eve is my favourite name of that type!
I love love love Eva!! It’s been a longtime favorite of mine — there was a period of time in my early teens where I was convinced if I had a daughter she’d be [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] The only reason she’s not on my list now is because I don’t love the way [name_f]Eva[/name_f] looks in my handwriting but I think she’s truly perfect and fits so well with your other names, especially with the [name_f]Eve[/name_f] pronunciation!
I adore [name_f]Eva[/name_f] !! I think it is common / recognizable brought that people do not hear evil . I have also heard it pronounced Ee-faa or Ev-uh
