I’m probably not the first to think of this as a name game, but I’ve always find it interesting to see how people’s perceptions of names change depending on their past experience, which sort of developed into an idea for a game in my head.
It’s pretty simple, so I’ll post a quick example and hopefully people will catch on:
Poster #1: ‘‘What’s your first association with [name]Matilda[/name]?’’
Poster #2: ‘’[name]Matilda[/name], the [name]Roald[/name] Dahl book… What’s your first association with [name]Thomas[/name]?‘’
Poster #3: ‘’[name]Thomas[/name] Cook, the travel agents… What’s your first association with [name]Frank[/name]?‘’
Poster #4: ‘’[name]Frank[/name] [name]Ocean[/name], the musician… What’s your first association with [name]Julia[/name]…?‘’
Simple? I think so.

[name]Dexter[/name], the cartoon character from [name]Dexter[/name]'s Laboratory. [name]Dexter[/name] has a positive association for me, as I consider it to be a smart and witty name.
What’s your first association of the name [name]Kenneth[/name]?
[name]Kenneth[/name] = [name]Kenneth[/name] [name]Williams[/name], British actor/comedian from the 50s/60s. He’s pretty much a nation treasure in the UK, so it’s definitely a good connection to have. I can’t say I love the name though.
What’s your first association of: [name]Veronica[/name]?
[name]Veronica[/name] [name]Lodge[/name], aka [name]Ronnie[/name], from the [name]Archie[/name] comics I like her vivaciousness, determination, and confidence. I don’t like that she’s spoiled, selfish, vain, and manipulative, usually to her best friends. So I guess the association is neutral, bordering on negative.
What’s your first association with [name]Willow[/name]?
[name]Rachel[/name] McAdams, actress from The Notebook. She’s so beautiful, and I mean, who doesn’t love The Notebook? So it’s a positive association for me.
What is your first association with [name]Louie[/name]?
[name]Louie[/name], the character played by [name]Louis[/name] C.K. in the TV series [name]Louie[/name]. I’ve personally never watched the show, but apparently it’s a comedy. It’s a neutral association for me.
What is your first association with the name [name]Wesley[/name] (or the nn [name]Wes[/name])?
