The name Chyler for a girl?

Does anyone like this name? I feel like I’ve heard it somewhere, but then I’m almost positive I made it up lol. I’m just curious what others think.

Chyler [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] is an actress from [name_u]Grey[/name_u]’s Anatomy. I see the appeal for the name but it sounds weird to me. I prefer [name_u]Skyler[/name_u].

I don’t like it. It looks made up and looks like someone trying to be unique with their kid’s name by misspelling [name_u]Skyler[/name_u] or making up a name to rhyme with others that are popular like the [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] names.

To me the spelling is confusing. At first I thought it was pronounced Chai-ler (like the tea). I prefer the phonetic [name_m]Kyler[/name_m], but [name_u]Skyler[/name_u]/[name_u]Schuyler[/name_u] is much better still in my opinion.

Yes I’ve come across one that is about 10 years old. I have a degree in biology and it reminds me of the word chitin, which helps me to know the correct pronunciation but also makes me think about arthropods and fungi. Overall, I’m not a fan of the name.

The Ch- beginning looks a bit strange to me, but I think the name would be usable overall. Or if you are looking for alternatives, maybe [name_u]Chandler[/name_u], [name_u]Skyler[/name_u], or [name_f]Shyla[/name_f]?

I’m not a fan of the Ch- spelling. It reminds me of a girl I went to high school with named Hyler. I also know girls named [name_u]Tyler[/name_u], [name_m]Kyler[/name_m], and [name_u]Skylar[/name_u].

It also makes me think of Chyler [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] (from Greys Anatomy & Supergirl)
I always mispronounce it in my head, so I’m not a huge fan. I much prefer [name_u]Skylar[/name_u]!

Much prefer [name_m]Kyler[/name_m]

I’m not a fan, sorry. I wasn’t sure whether it’s chy-ler with a “ch” sound, or ky-ler, or maybe even shy-ler. It doesn’t look at all feminine to me, but I’ve never heard of the actor so if I had maybe I’d see it as more feminine. It doesn’t have particularly feminine sounds either.

I’m not entirely sure how to pronounce it. My first guess was Shy-ler, but I could also see [name_m]Kyler[/name_m] or Chy-ler with a CH sound.

If it’s the Shyler pronunciation, there was a little cartoon dinosaur from my childhood who went by Shyler. The cartoon was called [name_m]Dink[/name_m], the [name_m]Little[/name_m] Dinosaur.

Never heard of this name, but it looks like someone was trying to spell Chrysler.
