I agree, the Y and I will mean that most English speakers won’t have that association. As long as you don’t live in a primarily Latin/Italian community/country I personally wouldn’t worry.
If you like [name_f]Mila[/name_f] and Miola… what about Miona?
It has a pretty sound, though it would get confused with [name_f]Viola[/name_f], I guess. But I do like it.

Oh yay, I was feeling a little discouraged with a few of the negative comments. It made me backtrack a bit. It’s still on the top of my list despite any negativity, I just need to make sure we have some backups too.

I hadn’t come across Miola before, but I think its pretty and definitely usable.
Or otherwise how about Miora or [name_f]Lola[/name_f]? It does also make me think of [name_f]Mila[/name_f], but Miola is more beautiful and unique!
DH thinks [name_f]Lola[/name_f] sounds like a stripper name. Lol. I think it would be a cute nickname but not my favorite as a full name. He also doesn’t like [name_f]Leora[/name_f]/[name_f]Liora[/name_f] so he’s not too into Miora… but I am. Sounds very pretty. It’s a good alternative. I jut find it funny how picky he is, and he randomly comes up with this one name and that’s all he likes and all he can think of. Nothing else. Maybe it’s meant to be. We’ll see.
