We are due w/ baby # 3 and not finding out if boy or girl. Trying to get some top names that will go nicely w/ our other two girls, Mhairi and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]. I would love to find another scottish name but struggling to find a name I really love that is truly Scottish. I am loving the name [name_u]Reid[/name_u] and wondering honest opinions on how this sounds with Mhairi and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]?

Thanks for the suggestions! I do actually kind of like [name_m]Alastair[/name_m]. Would you just pronounce it Allister? Or does it have a dif sound? I do like [name_m]Gavin[/name_m] as well.
[name_m]Alastair[/name_m] is said like Allister, except with a longer “air” at the end instead of “er”.
[name_m]Gavin[/name_m] is really cool and not really as common as it seems.

I think it’s all right but I have only heard it as a middle name. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Ruaraidh[/name_u]/[name_m]Ruaridh[/name_m]/[name_m]Ruari[/name_m]? All pronounced Roo-ree. It’s the Gaelic form of [name_u]Rory[/name_u].
I think [name_u]Reid[/name_u] [name_m]Alastair[/name_m] is sleek. [name_m]Ruari[/name_m] [name_m]Alastair[/name_m] is really nice as well. [name_m]Alastair[/name_m] [name_u]Reid[/name_u] works well too, or perhaps [name_m]Ruari[/name_m] [name_u]Reid[/name_u]? A little heavy on the R, but I like it!

I’m usually not a fan of one syllable names but I find this a pretty strong name on its own. Thinking [name_u]Reid[/name_u] [name_m]Michael[/name_m] maybe.
