The name Scarlett

Wdyt? After watching a movie with [name]Scarlett[/name] Johansson in it (We Bought a Zoo, very sweet), the name’s been stuck in my mind. It’s very sassy and glamorous to me, a la [name]Ruby[/name]. A friend of my family recently named her baby [name]Scarlett[/name]. I don’t worry about nicknames or whatever, but what would you possibly nn a [name]Scarlett[/name]? Along with that, does the “scar” part bother you? I don’t notice it but i’m sure some do.

What would you name a brother and sister to [name]Scarlett[/name]?

thanks for your opinions.

I know a young girl (about 14 or 15) whose name is [name]Scarlett[/name] but goes by [name]Carly[/name], which I think is a very fitting nickname for the full name! I wouldn’t worry too much about the scar part.

I would think [name]Carly[/name], Ette, [name]Etta[/name], [name]Letty[/name], [name]Letta[/name] or [name]Red[/name] (since scarlet is a shade of red) could be nicknames for [name]Scarlett[/name].

It’s all [name]Scarlett[/name] O’[name]Hara[/name] to me, and I love that it’s getting more use!

I don’t notice the “scar” at all. Not sure [name]Scarlett[/name] needs a nn, both Scarletts i know go by [name]Scarlett[/name], but there’s [name]Ettie[/name], [name]Lettie[/name], [name]Etta[/name], [name]Arla[/name], if you needed something.

I love it! My husband vetoed it cause we do have an acquaintance with the name…we never even see her but apparently he would always think of the other [name]Scarlet[/name]…oh well!

I dislike the Gone With The Wind association cause I don’t really like that character/theme, but I love the name. I would use nn [name]Lettie[/name]…which I think is just as sweet as [name]Hattie[/name]!

I dislike the rue in [name]Ruby[/name] more than the Scar in [name]Scarlet[/name] personally. I think [name]Scarlet[/name] is a ton better.

I think brothers to [name]Scarlet[/name] would have classics like [name]James[/name] or [name]Benjamin[/name]. Sisters could be [name]Evangeline[/name] or [name]Magnolia[/name] maybe? I imagine long, girly, southern names for her sisters

I don’t like it much, it’s very harsh sounding to me. I just picture slashing, blood, and scars. lol.

I like the idea of [name]Carly[/name] and [name]Ari[/name] as nn though.

From your list I like [name]Dominic[/name], [name]Blake[/name], [name]Graham[/name], [name]Marina[/name], [name]Vivian[/name] with a sister [name]Scarlett[/name].
