→ I love their meaning both in general and to me, but the sound of all of them, especially [name_u]Danny[/name_u] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], just excites me so much it’s unreal! Daniel’s also a sage green color to me, and it’s so relaxing to see, whereas [name_m]Dan[/name_m] and [name_u]Danny[/name_u] are burnt orange and brown, and feel so autumnal! Lucy’s my little light and such a flowery name it almost feels like the name of a plant!

→ Arguably, the first name I used (on a doll, of course) was [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]. But that was truly only because of Caillou’s sister. To me, little baby girls were named [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]. So while I count [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] as my first name, the first doll I named on my own, no strings/reasons attached, was [name_f]Emily[/name_f]. And after I had my whole collection of Barbies, my favorite doll’s name I changed to [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. I changed, in fact, nearly every toy’s name to [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. I never liked boys names, either, but [name_u]Jack[/name_u] is the first I remember liking. x

→ sweet and strong [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], I’ve liked her very recently (maybe 4-5 days?!) but I know she’s a keeper! I was bored and my brother had The Loud House on, and I began naming my own L clan… one of which was [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], and I just instantly fell in love with it. Of course, I’d heard it before, but something just clicked!

→ I do not like “Cr” names. I’ll just say it flat out. (hides behind blanket because I like [name_f]Christiana[/name_f]) But while I can tolerate the variants a la [name_f]Christine[/name_f], something’s just so off to me about [name_m]Crispin[/name_m]. I’m not sure if it’s the “crisp” sound, or hereditary, because my mom doesn’t like it either

→ Okay, so, arguably, I do like [name_m]Kevin[/name_m]. I know he’s not appealing to the vast majority, but I do like him. But I have an Uncle [name_m]Kevin[/name_m] who, while I do enjoy his company, is very old and has been around long enough for everyone to assume I’d be honoring him, which I wouldn’t.
→ And… I’m not even technically related to this [name_f]Celia[/name_f]. But my aunt is, and Miss [name_f]Celia[/name_f] is a very interesting person to say the least. We do like her loads, but she’s more just [name_f]Celia[/name_f] and, like [name_m]Kevin[/name_m], not a person I’m keen to honor.

Names come and go from my favor, but [name_f]Luna[/name_f] & longer form Luna-Rose have what I believe is a permanent place. This is my top name for a girl and the name of my imaginary daughter.

I just found this one and it was love at first sight. It was like it was glowing amongst the other names it was near. It’s almost too beautiful to belong in this world, which is why I won’t use it for my daughter. It just doesn’t feel like a modern human name to me.

At first, I looked at it and said “nope”. Then, slowly, the realization came that my only reason for feeling that way was that it’s a car brand. But it was a name before that. And it could be again. Not a first name, I wouldn’t do that to my kid. But as a middle name. Specifically for Luna-Rose.

I like the sound of both of these. However, I feel that [name_u]Luxury[/name_u] is a bit degrading, considering it is a word often used to describe possessions. And it just doesn’t seem right to me to name a child [name_u]Messiah[/name_u], for multiple reasons. Also, both of these seem like prime bullying opportunities.

→ i’ve been in a big name rut so ‘just’ is more like 5 months ago but i adore the sound of aderyn and the potential for addie as a nickname. i’ve been leaning into more modern, surname-names for boys and when going through lists spencer struck me as just my type!

could never quite like… nora and lachlan
→ i have quite a bad association with nora and i’ve never particularly liked the ‘oar’ sound in names. lachlan feels like the name of every other teenage guy i know, and i never really loved the sound before another bad association developed.

→ i probably wouldn’t use matilda due to popularity anyway but my cousin tilly has made that certain. robert was my great-grandfather’s name but i never knew him well enough to honour him, and using robert would seem like it was an honour.

→ this could easily have gone to imogen or mia again (or basically any name on my list) but i’m struggling with evie so much - nothing feels just right! i don’t think i’ve ever really had a jasper combo i’m completely happy with, and i feel as though i like lots of boys names but love very few, which is making it even more difficult than usual!
