The one

So I’m pretty set on [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] if we have a girl, just wondering peoples opinions. Sometimes I have reservations on [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] as a name for an adult. But then I think it could be pretty for a young woman, and there are so many names being used these days that are similar, like [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], [name_f]Millie[/name_f]. Anyways just looking for some thoughts on the name, should I go for it?!

I love it! [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] is such a bright and happy name, and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is a nice, solid, grounding middle should she ever feel the need for something more “formal” to go by. Absolutely go for it!

This is so beautiful! [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] is a unique, lovely name that does fit right in with [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and co., while also standing out. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is such a great classic, and the two balance well.

[name_u]Sunny[/name_u] is so pretty! I agree with katinka that [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] will give her a “fallback” should she need it. I think [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] would do just fine as the name of an adult, but if you’re concerned about it I’ve always like [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] or [name_f]Sonya[/name_f].

I love [name_u]Sunny[/name_u]. I honestly wouldn’t worry about it aging. I can seen it on a grown woman, she might just be a little more wild and free spirited than others

Thanks for all the positive feedback so far! Super encouraging:)

I say go for it! You’re right, many similar names are currently popular. All the other little girls named [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] will be growing older right alongside her.

If it helps, there is a country singer named [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] [name_u]Sweeney[/name_u]. She is past 40 and carries it well.

I love it! I think it definitely ages well. Its easy for me to imagine on an older woman because I think of so many nicknames that women our grandparents age went by (that are coming back!) [name_f]Birdie[/name_f], [name_f]Bunny[/name_f], [name_f]Goldie[/name_f], etc. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though there weren’t necessarily their full names, they still went by these names and I think [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] fits right in. Perfect on a little girl or a grandmother. Go for it!

I met a lady called [name_f]Sunshine[/name_f] once, while not [name_u]Sunny[/name_u], the similarity can’t go unnoticed. She was a really confident, bright and kind woman. So while it’s not a typical name, it has a good association to me.

Such a beautiful combination! Great name.
[name_u]Sunny[/name_u] works these days don’t worry

I think [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is just lovely, and it will age just as well as any other name in my opinion. If she wants something a little more formal, as others have mentioned before me, she’ll have her middle name to fall back on.

I like it! I’d assume she were an artist or writer over a lawyer, but that’s probably a plus. You could go for [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] or [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] but I don’t think that’s necessary…

I love [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], it’s just perfect! Personally I’d go with [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] nickname [name_u]Sunny[/name_u], but that’s just my personal opinion. [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] on its own is absolutely fine.

I really like it! [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] is so sweet and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is so sensible - they work really well

I love it! in fact, [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is on my own list! I love the balance of fun and free spirited and feminine classic

Thank you everyone! Feeling confident in our choice again:) 4 weeks to go!

Oh really?! Care to share any of your other choices? We must have similar taste!

[name_u]Sunny[/name_u] is an adorable nickname. As a first name, it seems immature.

While [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] is not my taste I think you should go for it. My parents were a bit “hippie dippie”, they put a lot of thought into my name. They chose [name_f]Feather[/name_f]. I am the product of them; vegan, I built a “tiny house” and like to work on motorcycles. I also am very organized, well structured and hold a “white collar career”. I’ve never had an issue with my name… potential employers care about my degree and references. Clients care that I represent them well in court. My name is not something you would expect a lawyer to wear, but I do. My point is if you like [name_u]Sunny[/name_u], use [name_u]Sunny[/name_u]. By adulthood she will only get compliments

My first association is A Series of Unfortunate Events. That is not at all a bad association to have! [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] is an incredibly strong and determined character (all while being only a baby!)
