Our first, a baby boy, is due in [name_u]December[/name_u], and my husband and I are struggling to find a name that we both adore!
I love [name_m]Keith[/name_m], [name_m]Clarence[/name_m] and [name_m]Edwin[/name_m]. My husband suggested [name_m]Zane[/name_m], [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and [name_m]Leonard[/name_m]. The thing is, he hasn’t loved any of the names he’s suggested to make them serious contenders, and has shot down all of the names from my own favorites list. We’ve also thought about [name_m]Landon[/name_m], [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] and Astor (his grandfather’s name), but haven’t fallen in love.
We’re both big [name_m]Lord[/name_m] of the Rings fans, so when I came across the name [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] as a possibility, I suggested it. His response was positive, but we’re still not 100% convinced. The name has a few pronunciations (we’d go with the “ro-hahn” one, not the “row-an” one), and though I myself have a name that is notoriously hard to pronounce, I’m not sure if I want to pass that burden down to my own kid.
As it stands right now we are about 80% on board with [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] [name_m]Xavier[/name_m].
I’d love to see if anyone else has a few other name ideas that perhaps we haven’t considered! I’m picky about names that are very common (except for a middle name), and my husband has unpredictable tastes if you couldn’t tell already. The last name begins with T and ends with “son.”
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_m]Ronan[/name_m]? I really like both [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] and [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] [name_m]Xavier[/name_m]. I know a little [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] whose name is pronounced “[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]” and that pronunciation is totally counterintuitive to me. Everyone (including me) thinks it is or should be the pronunciation [name_f]Ro[/name_f]-Hahn OR should be spelled [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]. I don’t think you will have as many problems pronouncing [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] the way it looks!! The way you pronounce it is the way it looks!
I quite like both [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] and [name_m]Ronan[/name_m]!
Its hard to nail down suggestions but …
[name_m]Tomlin[/name_m]
[name_m]Torin[/name_m]
[name_m]Keifer[/name_m]
[name_m]Dugan[/name_m]
[name_u]Regan[/name_u]
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m] is nice! It’s very similar to [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] which I think could work. I’m glad to hear that folks generally want to pronounce [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] the way it’s spelled though! I like [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] but I like [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] more
Ohh I love [name_m]Torin[/name_m] and [name_m]Keifer[/name_m]! I actually had suggested [name_m]Keifer[/name_m] awhile back (I loooove K names but feel like good ones can be hard to find) and my husband didn’t love it, but I might try to throw it out there again as an option. [name_m]Torin[/name_m] is not one I’ve really come across before so I’m going to add that to our list too!
I’m realizing I spelt [name_m]Keifer[/name_m] instead of [name_m]Kiefer[/name_m] - although I believe they are generally the same!
My brother’s name is actually Keiver (a family name from McKeiver, pronounced like [name_m]Kiefer[/name_m] but with a v, KEY-ver), he quite likes his name but he actually wishes he was a [name_m]Kiefer[/name_m]. Despite its rarity the name has served him well - sometimes he is nn’d Ke or [name_m]Keve[/name_m].
[name_u]Rohan[/name_u] [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] is absolutely gorgeous. So strong and handsome with an international vibe… i.e., works well across different cultures. I love it, it’s one of my favorite boy combos I’ve come across.
Ahh thank you! The fact that people like it is really helping me like it more We’ve kept it fairly quiet from friends and family just since we’re still not 100%, but this is helping me get there!
My cousin’s name is [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] (said ro-HAN) honouring his [name_f]Indian[/name_f] side of the family - so I immediately think of the Sanskrit name rather than the LOTR reference.
I really do like [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] a lot, but I know for my cousin it’s tricky to get people to use the correct pn (even within our family honestly). Alternatively you might like;
[name_u]Tristan[/name_u]

[name_m]Idris[/name_m]
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] / [name_u]Evan[/name_u] / [name_m]Euan[/name_m]
[name_m]Dev[/name_m] / [name_u]Devan[/name_u] / [name_u]Devon[/name_u]
[name_m]Lorcan[/name_m] / Lochan / [name_m]Lochlan[/name_m] / [name_u]Larkin[/name_u]

[name_u]Auden[/name_u] / [name_u]Arden[/name_u]
[name_m]Collin[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]
[name_u]Rohan[/name_u] [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] is super handsome! I’m a massive fan of [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], and [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] feels quite similar to me. [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] seems like a winner to me. I’ve never quite been sure how to say [name_u]Rohan[/name_u]–I’ve always liked the simplicity of [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], lol–but I agree that the pronunciation shouldn’t be too hard to figure out. I’ve mainly been told it was like [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] (same with [name_u]Rowen[/name_u] and [name_u]Roan[/name_u], although [name_u]Roan[/name_u] looks like RONE to me…), so I say it pretty much like [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], but I agree that [name_f]RO[/name_f]-hahn makes a lot of sense!
Not sure if these are on the right track, but I’m going by [name_u]Rohan[/name_u] + [name_m]Xavier[/name_m]. Hopefully something is helpful, anyway!
