The problem with making up names

[name_f]My[/name_f] ten year old daughter and her friend made a temporary pet of a tree frog:

[name_u]Rory[/name_u]: “We made up a really cool name that started with a Z but then we couldn’t remember it so now we just call her Rebecca.” :joy:

When I make up names I’m usually just combining pre-existing names or modifying them.

Instead of Xidanveresina, why not make up something like Xanderette or [name_f]Xaviera[/name_f]- wait thats already a name nvm

A protagonist in one of my stories is named Jermione, a combination of [name_m]Jerome[/name_m] and [name_f]Hermione[/name_f]. Weird af ? Yeah. Work for the story ? Yeah.

I also have the tendency to make up names only to find out that they exist: (i.e. [name_m]Costello[/name_m], Lisanna, [name_f]Fleurine[/name_f], etc.)

Wow, this has nothing to do with the story. I’m so sorry for this unrelated ramble lmao
