hello! just curious as to what the most popular pronunciation of [name]Anastasia[/name] is?
do you pronounce it [name]Ah[/name]-na-sta-zia
ana-stay-zhuh
or
ana-sta-sia
in europe i know it tends more to [name]Ah[/name]-na-sta-zia
but what about in the US?
thank you!
I pronounce it ana-stay-zhuh. That’s the only way I’ve heard it pronounced, but those other pronounciations are neat.

English speakers usually pronounce [name]Anastasia[/name] as “ana-stay-zhuh” so I would go with that one if in live in [name]North[/name] [name]America[/name].

I always pronounce it the Greek/Slavic way. Always. [name]Ah[/name]-na-stah-see-uh / [name]Ah[/name]-na-stah-shyah.
But I know many Anastasias in real life, all of whom have that heritage, as well as a few male [name]Anastasios[/name]'s.

[name]Anastasia[/name] is the Greek word for resurrection and is pronounced in Greek as [name]Blade[/name] said – ah-na-stah-see-uh
However, In [name]North[/name] [name]America[/name], the only pronunciation you’re likely to get is an-na-stay-shuh or an-na-stay-see-uh.

I pn like in the movie [name]Anastasia[/name] and in [name]Cinderella[/name]:
An-na-stay-shuh
She says the name around the 1min mark and again near the end of the clip.
[name]Ana[/name]-stay-zhuh. And it’s a gorgeous name.
