The Quick Poll Thread! (Part 1)

I think [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] or [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] would sound really nice!

I always go for very straightforward spellings and pronunciations. Is [name_f]Thea[/name_f] pronounced “thay-ah” going to be an issue for me?

  • I would have assumed “thee-ah”
  • I would have assumed “thay-ah”
  • I wouldn’t assume either way
  • It won’t be a problem
  • It may be a problem

I would assume either “thee-ah” or “tay-ah” / “teh-ah.”

Had a distant [name_m]German[/name_m] relative with this name, but it was pronounced the same way as [name_f]Tia[/name_f] (tee-ah) Wouldn’t see that as a problem though! Haha

I’ve met A LOT of [name_f]Delia[/name_f]’s in my life and they’ve always been DEH-lee-uh (the way we say it in Spanish) but I’m curious if that’s just a regional thing or not

Dell-ee-uh

For me that sounds almost exactly as DEH-lee-uh, is it just a change of pace that makes it sound different or does it sound completely different for you?

Just to get a better feel on these names I’m testing out, I’m doing quick rating polls for the [name_u]Cass[/name_u] and [name_m]Casius[/name_m] names, since they are leading (and tying) in my previous polls. If [name_f]Cerys[/name_f] picks up, I’ll do a separate one for those.

Just out of curiosity, how many nicknames can one person carry?

  • just one— anything else would be too much.
  • one for friends, one for family (2)
  • one for each group of friends, and one for family (2+)
  • the more the merrier, nicknames can just be cool accessories

just to say

I’m having an [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] moment. I’m going to blame Tiny Pretty Things again. I love [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]’s 4000 silly nicknames more than I love [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], but sometimes I feel like I could get past that on the expectation that I can use [name_f]Bizzy[/name_f] and [name_f]Zibby[/name_f] and maybe Tibs.
