How would you pronounce [name_f]Delia[/name_f]?

I’ve met A LOT of [name_f]Delia[/name_f]’s in my life and they’ve always been DEH-lee-uh (the way we say it in Spanish) but I’m curious if that’s just a regional thing or not
Dell-ee-uh
For me that sounds almost exactly as DEH-lee-uh, is it just a change of pace that makes it sound different or does it sound completely different for you?

Just thought of it randomly and while neither of these are my style I thought it was so cute
Just to get a better feel on these names I’m testing out, I’m doing quick rating polls for the [name_u]Cass[/name_u] and [name_m]Casius[/name_m] names, since they are leading (and tying) in my previous polls. If [name_f]Cerys[/name_f] picks up, I’ll do a separate one for those.

Just out of curiosity, how many nicknames can one person carry?
- just one— anything else would be too much.
- one for friends, one for family (2)
- one for each group of friends, and one for family (2+)
- the more the merrier, nicknames can just be cool accessories

just to say
I’m having an [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] moment. I’m going to blame Tiny Pretty Things again. I love [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]’s 4000 silly nicknames more than I love [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], but sometimes I feel like I could get past that on the expectation that I can use [name_f]Bizzy[/name_f] and [name_f]Zibby[/name_f] and maybe Tibs.
I think it just depends. I call one of my friends one nn while everyone else calls him another and even then he mostly goes by his full name. [name_m]Just[/name_m] depends on the person and their friends + family
Oh wow okay good to know. I definitely don’t want my kid to feel like.

How do you instinctively pronounce [name_f]Klara[/name_f]?
- Kl-AH-rah
- Kl-EH-rah
- I interchange between the two
- Something else (@ me)

I’m an annoying American who can’t separate vowel sounds from my R so both of these would be impossible for me to say. I’d flip between KLAR-uh (rhyming with car) and KLAIR-uh (rhyming with hair). [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is always the second but the K would make me question myself. You can translate those into something non-American lol.
Charlie & [name_u]Eli[/name_u]!
Klair-uh (1st syllable rhymes with hair)
^^ Exactly.
Do you prefer…
- One middle name
- Two middle names
- Usually two, occasionally one.
