Same! That was such a drastic change!
I discovered Nameberry around 2017 (really enjoyed browsing the forums especially) and finally joined last year! To be honest, the switch over to the new forum made this place seem more approachable to me & made me want to join. I liked the old forum too, but the style made it came across more clique-ish to me - like l was intruding on private conversations, somehow.
me too! I was mainly concerned because I thought I couldnāt finish a project I had been working on for a year at that point, but also Iāll admit I just hate change
I like it now though
Omg!! I had no idea of her surname oops, guess Iāll cross that one off the list haha, thank you!
Quick one, canāt decide whether to switch my middles

- Rose doesnāt belong
- Lucy doesnāt belong
- Alice doesnāt belong
- Flora doesnāt belong
- Mabel doesnāt belong
- Itās too floral
- Itās weird that [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Flora[/name_f] are the only floral names
- Why do [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] only have 4 letters?
- Why does [name_f]Alice[/name_f] start with a vowel?
- Why doesnāt [name_f]Rose[/name_f] contain an L?
- Why is [name_f]Rose[/name_f] one syllable?
- Itās perfectly fine

I like [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] together, itās perfect! I do like [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] as a name but I donāt like it in that set.
same as @teddybearclub I love all the names but [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], it just feels a little insubstantial next to the other names.

If [name_u]James[/name_u] can be [name_m]Jim[/name_m], I donāt see why it canāt be [name_u]Jem[/name_u]. At least thereās an āeā in the name, unlike āiā.

- Thaddeus Peregine Crowley

I prefer [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] as a name but with [name_u]Thaddeus[/name_u] I think itās too many syllables and messes up the flow
If Crowley is a middle name, I would prefer [name_u]Thaddeus[/name_u] Crowley [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u]
I think they are absolutely beautiful together! If it were for real sisters, Iād probably limit the floral first names to one or two. [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] together would be just a little too much for a real sibset imo.
you would pronounce [name_f]Cecilie[/name_f]ā¦
- more like [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]
- more like [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]

In [name_m]German[/name_m] I would say it more like [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] but in [name_f]English[/name_f] Iād go for sess-see-lee, so a more pronounced ee sound in the second syllable than [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] but with the lee ending. Thereās also [name_f]Cecile[/name_f], the [name_u]French[/name_u] version of the name, which I pronounce suh-seel.
I seem to be in the minority but at first glance Iād assume it was like āseh-SEE-leeā
Iād ask
it would depend where I was, in Denmark I would say suh-seel-yuh, in [name_f]France[/name_f] I would say seh-sih-lee and in [name_f]England[/name_f] I would say [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]
Preference between these feminine names with unisex nicknames?
(You can choose both)
- [name_f]Emily[/name_f] ā[name_u]Lee[/name_u]ā
- [name_f]Grace[/name_f] ā[name_u]Grey[/name_u]ā
I know Grace ā[name_u]Gray[/name_u]ā makes more sense, but I prefer the grey spelling
