The Quick Poll Thread! (Part 2)

similar feel/ style is important to me in sibsets, with that in mind do you think [name_m]Brannigan[/name_m] and [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] have similar feel and would make sense as brothers?

  • yes they would make great brother names
  • kind of, they would still make good brother names
  • no they sound very different next to each other
  • they don’t belong in a sibset together

I have trouble not voting for every single goddess name since I love Greek mythology so much.

I think in general they have similar sounds because they both end similarly, but they have completely different vibes. [name_m]Brannigan[/name_m] feels more trendy and bubbly, like a mix of [name_m]Brandon[/name_m] and [name_m]Finnigan[/name_m], while [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] feels more regal and serious. I could see them as brothers, but it wouldn’t personally be my first choice.

This has confused me for sooo long. I pronounce all of them with a ‘th’ sound. Except for [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], even though the original is definitely with a ‘th’. What a mess lol

I was actually thinking the same just the other way around, so I really appreciate the feedback thank you.

Also technically, the ‘‘correct’’ pronunciation is THAH-lya, not THAH-lee-ah. But I’ll take it over TAH-lee-ah hahaha

How is Aphaea pronounced? I’m pronouncing it like ah-[name_f]Faye[/name_f]-ah but have no idea if it’s right!

I’m pretty sure it’s pronounced like that!

Well, I’ve never made that connection before, but now that you mention it…

I love [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], but I think [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] would flow a little better

@rosepip, I was thinking about [name_f]Thalia[/name_f], and I believe when I first saw it I pronounced it TAH-lee-uh (a as in apple for Americans), but I heard THAY-lee-uh and preferred it, so I switched to that pronunciation. Clearly THAY-lee-uh is not correct, but I still like it.
