If the general consensus was āextremeā dislike for a good reason, not just that it isnāt to someoneās taste, then yes it would probably stop me from using it!
I say [name_u]Mirren[/name_u] as āmih-runā. It has the same cadence as [name_m]Warren[/name_m], just with a different starting sound.
Also I voted that I assume boy for [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], but I do consider it unisex and wouldnāt be surprised at meeting a female [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]. Itās just that in my experience it has been overwhelmingly male!
If they had a legit reason to not like it then yes but if they just happened to not like it with no reason other then just not liking it then it wouldnāt put me off
I love [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] but me personally wouldnāt use the original spelling of the goddess on a boy as I think itās inappropriate (this is just me personally, others can definitely feel differently and this goes for gods names on girls as well for me), I would go for [name_m]Artemus[/name_m] or [name_m]Artemas[/name_m], same sound but is the masc version of the name
I love [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] for a boy because of [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] Fowl, [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] [name_f]Moon[/name_f] and Fantastic Beasts!
when someone really loves a name sometimes their love of it will rub off on me. and if I ask for opinions about a name and people really hype me up, it will probably maybe encourage me to love it more.
but also if i ask for opinions and people really donāt like it sometimes my thought will be ānow Iām just going to love it even harder>:(ā and their opinions help me to solidify my own thoughts on the name.
I do care what people think, but I also realize that not everyone is looking for the same things in a name as I am. I have very specific criteria and my names fit that criteria, which is good enough for me!
I donāt want to give examples, but there are names on here that are wildly popular that arenāt my style, so I try to remember that when one of my favorite names is disliked
