I already did this in the writer’s quick thread poll, but this thread seems to have more voters!

Last names for my characters?

Felicity Eliza ____: She is a trouble maker, but always comes around and apologizes. She has two older brothers (Tobias and Peter), and I’m debating on giving her a little sister. Her family lives in the country, she’s 16. Snow or Blue for her last name?

  • Felicity Eliza Snow
  • Felicity Eliza Blue
  • Felicity Eliza ___ (I have a better idea! @ me)

Clarissa ____: She’s an uppity city girl who comes to live with Felicity’s family. Her mom is a well known author. She tends to be passive aggressive. Burkley or Warren for her last name? Also, middle name ideas?

You’d probably have to correct me a few times, especially if I were reading it, but I’d eventually get it in my head, I think.

A very random mix of polls, just based on thoughts I’ve had over the past few days…

Does the name Celeste make you think of something not so nice? TW: either molest, or for me it unfortunately reminds me of the Chris Watts murders

  • Yes, the first thing you said.
  • Yes, the second thing you said.
  • Yes, something else altogether / yes, but I didn’t open the spoiler
  • No, I don’t think of anything bad.

[name_f]Celeste[/name_f] makes me think of the word ‘celestial’ and the stars!

I might think of the first association if I was trying to think of negative associations that could be present, but it’s not an immediate/first thought for me.

i do get the first association when i hear it sometimes but it is such a lovely name that it doesn’t affect how i see it !

Since [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is an older name and [name_f]Nona[/name_f] is a name for grandmothers, [name_f]Nona[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] sounds like what a kid might call their grandma—“We’re going to [name_f]Nona[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] and Papa Hank’s house for thanksgiving!” That’s the only reason I voted there would be a problem though.
