Really getting [name_f]Alara[/name_f] vibes from the second (and third) picture!
Top four will be potential combos for my nursery baby.

This is because for both versions I have read somewhere that it is a boy name and somewhere it is a girl name, to me it read femm but someone told me it is a boy’s name and therefore I shouldn’t but it in my girl list.

you see the name Marin, you say …
- muh-REN (like the county in California)
- mair-in (like Maren)
- mawr-in (kind of like marring/to mar)
- did you think you could do a pronunciation poll without someone replying that they would say it another way?

you would prefer Murphy + Marlow as…
- Murphy (b)
- Murphy (g)
- Marlow (b)
- Marlow (g)
- bonus: Marlowe
- I like the ambiguity of two unisex names

This might be an accent thing but I’m originally from [name_u]California[/name_u] and have always heard the county as muh-RIN rather than muh-REN, so that’s how I would say it (I voted for muh-REN because it was closest)

So [name_u]Marlow[/name_u] is the only spelling I can picture on a boy, but I prefer [name_u]Marlo[/name_u] or [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u], both of which are girl names in my mind.

It’s not the fact they end with -on and -an, it’s just the fact that they all feel very mismatched
At least from my perspective, [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] and [name_m]Brian[/name_m] are both pretty dated (more so [name_m]Brian[/name_m] than [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] but non the less, [name_m]Brian[/name_m] is very 60s/70s and [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] is very 90s, though it’s still somewhat popular now, it just peaked in the 90s), [name_m]Cleon[/name_m] feels so oddly ancient next to all of them and [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] is very early 2000/10s so it feels very youthful compared to all of them, the only ones that I could see in a pair are [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] and [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] together
In that case then sure, I’m just using my perspective as an American!
Is it okay for a non Jewish person with no Jewish heritage to use Rivka?
it is one of the names i want to give a future daughter, in form of rivka aurora or rivka felicita
i really like rivka, it is one of my favourite names but i kind of dislike rebecca. could use it, but really prefer rivka “riv” or “rika” instead of rebecca “rebbie” or “becky”. and i love this name, it makes me so happy from inside
- yes
- no
- uuuh, maybe?

like i am afraid it is cultural appropriation but i really want to use it, if it is considered cultural appropriation then maybe i will use it on a pet (if i can?? or is that weird / wrong too)?
