The Quick Poll Thread! (Part 5)

How ludicrous is Margaux “Max?”

  • Margaux “Max” totally makes sense
  • It’s a bit stretchy but not too forced
  • Way too unnatural

I feel like it’s on the same level as [name_m]Bill[/name_m] for [name_u]William[/name_u] and [name_m]Bob[/name_m] for [name_u]Robert[/name_u], just a letter difference. And, the ‘x’ is actually in this name, just not heard, so I might even say it makes more sense than [name_m]Bill[/name_m] or [name_m]Bob[/name_m] for their respective names!

How much sense does Margot called Daisy make?

  • A lot of sense!
  • Minimal sense!
  • Not much, but I see the reasoning!
  • No sense!
  • Other ( @ me! )

I don’t know that I’ve ever heard the reasoning…?

[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is a nickname for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], as is Margot… that’s my wonky reasoning

Ohh okay! In that case, I think it would probably be a nickname that could work if you wanted it to, but you could also easily avoid it if you wanted to, since it isn’t intuitive

I love the “ette” names and I know one day I want either a Charlotte, Scarlett, Juliet, Colette, or Violet, BUT does that mean I should scratch Kit for a boy?

  • No, even with a daughter with an “ette” ending name, Kit doesn’t rhyme too much
  • Kit and Juliet are fine together, but not the rest
  • Kit and Colette are fine together, but not the rest
  • Kit with either Juliet or Colette works, but not the rest
  • Yes, Kit is too rhyme-y with all of these
  • I have a different, unlisted opinion! I will @ you🥰

i would maybe avoid colette if this is something you’re worried about, because both the start and end sound are the same, but all the others are completely fine !!

I wouldn’t scratch any of them from your list, because there will likely be another opinion involved & the may not like -ette names & love [name_u]Kit[/name_u]

I’ve heard of [name_f]Rea[/name_f] pronounced [name_u]Ray[/name_u] but I find it very unintuitive.
