That makes sense. 
But I’m still of the opinion that it is worth being aware of the other meanings and connotations of a word that developed simultaneously elsewhere in order to make an informed decision on if you want to use a name, add it to your list, or not. And I didn’t know for certain if [name_f]Amalfi[/name_f] knew.
I see this awareness as especially important when dealing terms that are significant to marginalized groups.
