The Quick Poll Thread! (Part 6)

Thinking of adding one of these to my UC , can’t decide (I already have a Penelope so I don’t want to use both)

So it depends on whether it’s written or spoken!! Because of how translation works on legal documents, a Greek Ξένια (pronounced Ksenia, two syllables! kseh-nya) would be written as Xenia on her passport, ID, etc.! Whereas one from elsewhere in Eastern Europe would be written as Ksenia.

But yes, I’d definitely assume Greek, just because I’ve never met one from anywhere else and it’s fairly well known in Greece! I’d say everyone knows at least one Ksenia/Xenia.

Not that I’d find it weird for someone who isn’t Eastern European to use it! I wouldn’t.

with the context that I want to lean into the modern, trendy, sporty aspects of Mia and match that for a sister’s name…

I would assume a [name_f]Ksenia[/name_f] is Russian first rather than Greek.

I pronounce [name_f]Xenia[/name_f] as SEN-yuh; the only two Xenias I’ve known pronounced it that way, but wouldn’t be surprised to be corrected to a different pronunciation.

Do like Nazareth for a boy or it doesn’t feel like a legit first name?:purple_heart:

I adore [name_u]Nazareth[/name_u] but prefer it for a girl. I’m not a fan of it paired with [name_u]William[/name_u], it feels a tad off

Thoughts on lavender pearl for girl? Too descriptive?

What’s this sound like

I would assume, at least in [name_f]English[/name_f], like the ending of necks combined with the sound of zen.
