However, I only wouldn’t like it because one of those Felixes is a bad association!
Currently thinking about any name I could possibly give the nickname “Vasya.”

If I know it is a name, [name_u]Basil[/name_u] with the apple a sound. But for me the herb gets the bay sound.
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_u]Florence[/name_u] ‘Birdie’ and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Ida[/name_f] ‘Goldie’ are everything
- Lee-zuh (like Lisa but replace the s sound with a z sound)
- Lie-zuh (like Eliza without the e)
- Both are correct
- Other?

Does Amerigo remind you of… America?
- Yes
- No
0 voters
Amerigo is a very vintage Italian name (not in a bad way) and reminds me of adventures and books. I have no problems using it since it will be easily pronounced here where I live, and it also fits the context where I am in my country. But I am not sure if, out of Italy (I probably will go abroad in the future, as well!) it will sound like “America” as first association. It is one of my favourite names if of the Italian langauge
Pronunciation: Ah-MEH-ri-go
Ah → car
me-> Carmen, America (lol), Melissa
Ri → erika, rivka
Go → hugo
It is the Italian form of “Emmerich” and was used plenty much in the past (in my context).
[name_m]Amerigo[/name_m] reminds me of [name_u]America[/name_u] - not necessarily because of the way it sounds (they sound different enough in my accent), but because [name_u]America[/name_u] was named after [name_m]Amerigo[/name_m] Vespucci. Well, that’s the generally accepted theory anyway.
Thank you everyone for your help with the Roseline combos!!
Now it’s time to see what you all think about my favorites!!

struggling, because i love these two but am not falling in love with any full name – and i know Dessa doesn’t necessarily need a first name, but i would just like one! i have combed behind the name for every possible “des” or “d–es” or “es–d” name out there and am still like… ehh.

Favorite evergreen for boy ?
I don’t even think that Tedesca is a name
Tedesca means literally “German” in Italian…
But I am actually liking it as a Gp now [name_u]Will[/name_u] never be able to name my child “German” since I am in [name_f]Italy[/name_f] and I cannot unsee this neither (and will probably be an illegal name too) but, I really love the sound! Wish I did not know Italian atp
Not totally sure if it’d be your thing, but my personal favorite is [name_f]Iridessa[/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was [name_f]Desdemona[/name_f]!
Odessa and Desdemona!
