i think if they were going to be called gwen & gen then it would be too similar, but with nicknames like gwen & evie or wendy & ginny then it totally works!

if you didn’t use nicknames at all, then i don’t think that the full names would be too similar to be in a sibset together, but without set nicknames, people might automatically shorten them to gwen & gen, which brings us back to my original comment!

Summary

Thank you for your reply! :sunny: It’s such a thoughtful thing to point out! Strangely I absolutely adore all the possible nn options for [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] (especially [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] So cute!), but I’m kinda unexcited about the nn’s for [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] (Ginny is my favourite I think… maybe ). They are nice, but I’m not in love, so perhaps for me [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] would be better as a middle name

ahh i love dolly so much :face_holding_back_tears: and i feel the same way about genevieve! i like ginny, gigi, neve, & nevy, but none of them hold a candle to dolly or wendy imo :white_heart:

I think it works, I just have a very strong negative personal association with the name [name_u]Coco[/name_u] and I just couldn’t bring myself to vote yes

Ezra and Vera - too similar-sounding to use for siblings?

  • Absolutely too much alike :no_good_woman:t2:
  • Yeah, a little too similar to use
  • I can’t decide :woman_shrugging:t2:
  • Similar, but not too much to use them both :+1:t2:
  • Not even a problem :raised_hands:t2:

Frederick Finch and Felix Finch have sort of hovered around the same ranking if our list. I think Felix is an absolutely adorable name and really really like it. However, it sort if…. Just feels like a name. I don’t know if there is anything special about it. It’s also much more popular. I feel like Frederick has a bit more pizazz, but I feel like I sort of struggle pronouncing it a bit? We don’t love when it sounds like Fred and Rick got smashed together, we prefer the separation of Fred-er-ick. But I feel like every time I say it out loud it comes out as Fred-Rick. Help!

The nn [name_u]Cass[/name_u] for any gender is a big love of mine! It also feels totally neutral to me, and [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] just makes me think of [name_u]David[/name_u] [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u].

I couldn’t find it on NB so I just spelled it how I knew it would get across, so I’m so glad it’s a name someone else likes too
