I don’t feel like I need an answer to the username vs. real name debacle (especially since Adora or She-Ra is obvi the correct answer there :tipping_hand_woman:t3:) but my list has undergone significant changes in the last year so im wondering what names people now associate with me and my list:

How do you pronounce Mary, Merry, and Marry?

  • All three are the same
  • Mary and Merry are the same; Marry is different
  • Mary and Marry are the same; Merry is different
  • Merry and Marry are the same; Mary is different
  • All three are different

For me, Mary and Merry are the same (both in the vein of MEH-ree) while Marry is different (more like MARE-ee)

There all almost exactly the same, I just pronounce [name_u]Merry[/name_u] with more of an meh- sound, but aloud there almost indistinguishable

[name_f]Mary[/name_f] rhymes with scary and hairy
[name_u]Merry[/name_u] rhymes with berry and cherry
[name_f]Marry[/name_f] rhymes with parry and [name_u]Gary[/name_u]

All different

When there’s no difference between scary/hairy and parry/Gary in my accent… :flushed:

To clarify…
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] = MAIR-ree (like ā€œairā€)
[name_u]Merry[/name_u] = MEH-ree (like ā€œmenā€)
[name_f]Marry[/name_f] = MAH-ree (like ā€œmapā€)

I feel like I’m making it worse lol :joy:
