Jessica “Cara”?
Ok, before you all come at me, the end of Jessica and the start of Cara rhyme where I am - Caah-ruh, not Care-uh.
I thought of this when I got an idea of building off the end of a name for a nickname.
Again, hypothetical, not a baby, just a hypothetical.
So…
- Cara could actually work for Jessica (with the pronunciations outlined)
- A little stretchy but I like it
- Too stretchy for me, sorry
Thank you!
I’d pick this for my own!
i do think it works, but a middle with ‘ra’ in it, especially at the start, would help make it seem more natural!
Thank you for making me discover Proserpina!! I knew it before but I never considered it
Isn’t it the [name_m]Roman[/name_m] name of [name_f]Persephone[/name_f]? I kind of like [name_f]Proserpina[/name_f] but I don’t like [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] (in my native language it is Persefone, it is better imo in this spelling, but I still wouldn’t use it)
[name_f]Proserpina[/name_f] imo has a bit better sound and I kind of like it ? It feels like a mix of [name_m]Prosper[/name_m] (which I like) and -ina names which I like as well, and feels very Ancient [name_m]Roman[/name_m] / academia cool.
but I would keep it as a GP still because it reminds me too much of [name_f]Giuseppina[/name_f] which is such an old lady name (negatively) in my language / context (sorry if I offended anyone here who likes [name_f]Giuseppina[/name_f] )
What about [name_f]Cassie[/name_f]?
How do you pronounce [name_u]Marin[/name_u]? Because for me, [name_u]Marin[/name_u] and [name_f]Maren[/name_f] are totally different. [name_u]Marin[/name_u] is MAAH-rin and [name_f]Maren[/name_f] is MAAH-ren.
i intuitively pronounce [name_f]Maren[/name_f] to rhyme with [name_f]Karen[/name_f], but [name_u]Marin[/name_u] to rhyme with [name_f]Corinne[/name_f]!
I say them both this way
yeah, the roman version of persephone is proserpina, often written as proserpine in english !!

[name_f]Maren[/name_f] for me is a girl’s name I say Mah-run
in both of these ah is as in the ‘a’ in apple
personally for [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] I’d want another place name

Cassie’s alright! I suppose all the letters are in there.
Not a fan of [name_u]Cass[/name_u] though.
I agree. Like [name_f]Jessi[/name_f]ca [name_m]Ra[/name_m]chel for example.
