I don’t think [name_f]Clelia[/name_f] and Lilaea/Lilaia are too close in spelling but I already trip over the pronunciation of [name_f]Clelia[/name_f] so it’s extra difficult for me to say “Clelia and Lilaea”
Same as @/SparkleNinja, I would definitely go with [name_f]Lilaia[/name_f], that specifically pronunciation, [name_f]Lilaea[/name_f] I would instinctively pronounce as lih-LAY-uh
Just thought of another option
Clara and…
- Rosa
- Luisa
- Diana
Visually they look different enough so I don’t think the spellings are too close but they are both really really L heavy which makes [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] stick out a bit since she has zero Ls.
we’re in the home stretch!

Voted no, but what I mean is: It does make sense soundwise but it’s the same length as [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and doesn’t sound any friendlier?? So I don’t get why you would call someone with a nickname name by another nickname that isn’t more nickname-y

How do you feel about Xanthippe, keeping in mind that she means “yellow horse”? I love the sound, but her meaning is putting me off.
- I like it
- I am neutral
- I dislike it
- I love it
And is she usable as a first name, despite her meaning and supposedly being a misogynistic term for a “difficult” and nagging woman?
- Yes
- No
@mellona I don’t consider “yellow horse” a bad thing, but I am very easily put off by figurative meanings, even positive ones (if you hadn’t brought it up I probably would have)
a minor thing, but it’s actually “blonde horse” not “yellow horse”!! edit: or golden
