One of my ultimate favourite names is Lolita :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
Not planning to have any more kids but out of interest in a fantasy world where I did, do you think it will ever be acceptable to use in RL?

i think it could be acceptable as a nickname for lola or other names with a “lo” sound, but definitely not on its own

Saying it would NEVER be usable, ever again, is probably too much.
But I think it’s not ready yet, or anytime soon. The association is still very strong.

I have mixed feelings with [name_f]Lolita[/name_f] cause I adore her, and in my language it’s a super normal nn, but not everybody knows it’s a normal nn for me so it’s iffy. I’ve settled on it being exclusively a nn used only with certain groups as much as I love it :smiling_face_with_tear:

I actually know a [name_f]Lolita[/name_f] (in her 30’s) and as far as I know no one ever said anything about her name BUT I also feel like the stigma attached to this name is somehow far more pronounced in English-speaking countries? So it might depend on your location. I understand though, [name_f]Lolita[/name_f] definitely sounds cute.
