You chose the answer above becauseā€¦

  • ā€¦it has more aesthetic appeal
  • ā€¦it is easier to read
  • I donā€™t have a preference

Your preferenceā€¦

  • ā€¦is a preference for all user cards
  • ā€¦is a preference for my user card, but doesnā€™t apply to others
  • I donā€™t have a preference

Let me know if your answer is not listed.

I prefer mine to be properly capitalized, but I also love when other UCs are all lower case, it makes them feel softer

Aesthetically I do, at times, prefer all lowercase. However, I look at UCs for inspiration and new names and I often feel like all lowercase letters present a wrong image/aesthetic of a name??!!
As in charles and [name_m]Charles[/name_m] have a different vibe! charles feels softer but as that is not the way itā€™s going to be written in real life it doesnā€™t properly represent the vibes of the name.
Does that make any sense at all?

Itā€™s very simple to me. Proper nouns are always capitalized.
Itā€™s an issue of correct grammar to me, more than anything else, but also, thereā€™s almost a level of respect involvedā€¦? Like, failing to capitalize a name is disrespectful to the name itselfā€¦ if that makes any sense at allā€¦

Hello Iā€™m trying to pair English names with Hebrew names. While Hebrew names donā€™t necessarily need to correspond with English names, these children would be raised in Israel and probably called their Hebrew names by most people there but their English names by friends and family in the US and Iā€™d like to make it not TOO confusing for them.

Poll 1: vote for all the names you like regardless if you think theyā€™d be too complicated / not work well as English/Hebrew names

meanings of the Hebrew name are in parentheses

  • Rowena ā€œWinnieā€ /// Rena (joyful song)
  • Fern /// Gefen (vine)
  • Ida /// Chaya (life)
  • Eve /// Chaya (life)
  • Frida /// Shula (peace)
  • Nell /// Nechama (comfort)

Poll 2: Vote based NOT on which names you like but on which ones are not TOO confusing, or generally make sense if this child is to be called by both names

  • Rowena ā€œWinnieā€ /// Rena (joyful song)
  • Fern /// Gefen (vine)
  • Ida /// Chaya (life)
  • Eve /// Chaya (life)
  • Frida /// Shula (peace)
  • Nell /// Nechama
