Iris, Caspian, and Evaluna

If you voted that Iris is out of place, how can I make it more cohesive?

What if Evaluna and Caspian go exclusively by nicknames âCazâ and âEvieâ?

What if there is another sister called Dahlia and another brother called James?

How about just Iris, Dahlia, and James as a sibset?

Iris and James? (twins)

I also like [name_m]Sashka[/name_m] & Lila!!
I feel like [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] and [name_u]James[/name_u] are all on their own vintage, classic wavelength while [name_f]Evaluna[/name_f] and [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] are on a different, more fantastical one.
If [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is short for [name_f]Iridessa[/name_f], then she fits with [name_f]Evaluna[/name_f] and [name_m]Caspian[/name_m].
However I think sibsets as a concept are overrated and donât matter as much as your love for an individual name! If [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is the apple of your eye, then it shouldnât matter how well she does or doesnât go with your other favourites!
Thanks so much for the reply! I always greatly value your opinion. I think I agree with you, that the two sets have different underlying themes.
I completely agree with this sentiment! It somewhat breaks my name-nerd heart if sets are completely mismatched or way too matchy (think Elizabeth, Chrysanthemum and Madisyn, or something along those lines), but I agree that personal significance is far more important. ![]()
I think every sibset is woven together by the thread of love the parents had for each name, if nothing else.
And at the end of the day, children grow up and spend most of their lives living as individuals outside of their family. Theyâll always be connected in so many other ways even if their names donât match!
But I do agree thereâs such a delicious satisfaction in coming up with the perfect sibset
I donât think that should stop you from using a name you love though! You could always give [name_f]Iris[/name_f] a fantastical middle name to balance it better with [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] and [name_f]Evaluna[/name_f]
Once again, I completely agree with everything you said! Youâre always spot on.
My top picks for an Iris middle are Caledonia or Lilavati â Iâm leaning towards Caledonia, as it holds personal significance for me. Caspian and Evaluna both have very traditional middle names, so Iâm really flipping it around with Iris! ![]()
Ooooh they are both stunning!! [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Caledonia[/name_f] is sweeping and romantic
I love it

(Already struggling to write this question in a way that makes sense)
Do you think that itâs more acceptable to use a name that could be perceived as too similar to a family/friendâs name as a 2nd/3rd/4th child? Like if you didnât use Lola for your first child because you already have cousin Logan, the similarity would be less noticeable after youâve already used Iris & Henry? Or you didnât want to use Rex because your high school friend used it for her son but now you have Charlie & Leo so using Rex feels less like name stealing?
Kind of hoping that maybe non name nerds would think you just ran out of names/creativity. Or that people judge your first childâs name more and then donât really notice as much when itâs the fourth. (This is all a drawn out way of saying that I want to keep Bram on my list even though I have a family friend with a little boy named Bram)

Found my old notes app, and Rosalind May was my original version, but now Iâm kind of crushing again. Although Rosalia has been on my list for almost 2 years
[name_f]My[/name_f] daughter is [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Birdie[/name_f], and I wasnât sure how people would react to her nn, but we have gotten so many compliments! (And a few âHow did you come up with Birdie?â questions, but thatâs fine!) We originally intended it just to be a friends/family nn, but now Iâm kinda hoping sheâll want to keep it as she gets older and goes to school too.
I like the suggestion of [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] + [name_f]Brittany[/name_f]. I immediately thought [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] + [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] or [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] + [name_f]Christina[/name_f]. [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] is kind of frilly to me, so probably [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] from your list fits that the best, but I didnât vote for it because I have serious mean-girl associations with it.
[name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] + [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u]
[name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] + [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f]
[name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] + [name_f]Tiffany[/name_f]
[name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] + [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f]
I do think in the end itâs about the parentâs comfort level! Someone who thought it was too close for their first kid may still think itâs too close for their third, or maybe they donât care as much anymore! Itâs also worth mentioning that between first and third kid, the parentâs relationship to the person may have changed.
I personally am not bothered by people having similar names in families and such, though I tend to avoid repeats on my own list. I think itâs just such a subjective issue that everyone should just do what they feel comfortable with!

@lisshie Also, thank you for suggesting! [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] and [name_f]Christina[/name_f] are genius.
