The Rainbow Game!

This is a fun one! The first person starts with red and passes it on to the next person, as you work your way through the rainbow: [name]Red[/name], [name]Orange[/name], Yellow, [name]Green[/name], [name]Blue[/name], [name]Indigo[/name], [name]Violet[/name]. When someone gets to violet, the next person starts up again with red.

To play, come up with a name that in your mind either 1) has an etymological connection to the color, or more loosely 2) reminds you in some way of the color.

Example:

[name]Red[/name]; [name]Roxy[/name]

[name]Roxy[/name] reminds me of red because it’s such an active, dynamic sounding name.

Then, the next person picks up the chain with [name]Orange[/name].

I have synesthesia so this could be super fun for me, but I’ll go with the obvious one first…

[name]Orange[/name]: [name]Clementine[/name]

[name]Clementine[/name] reminds me of the color orange because a clementine is like a baby orange.

Greyer, I have synesthesia too! For me, notes have colors too!

Yellow: [name]Daisy[/name]

Because the eye of a daisy is yellow, but also for the freshness and brightness of the flower.

[name]Green[/name]: [name]Chloe[/name]

Because the name means “young green shoot”.

[name]Blue[/name]: [name]Luna[/name]

[name]Indigo[/name]: [name]Lark[/name]

because larkspur comes in beautiful indigo shades.

[name]Violet[/name]: [name]Priscilla[/name]

~[name]Jasmine[/name]

[name]Red[/name]: [name]Madeline[/name]

I’ve always seen this name as being red, I’m not sure why.

[name]Orange[/name]: [name]Seraphina[/name]

I don’t really know why, but I just looked the name up and it means fiery! So hey, that totally works.

Yellow: [name]Saffron[/name]

[name]Green[/name]: [name]Emerald[/name]

because Emeralds are green

[name]Blue[/name]: [name]Juliet[/name]

[name]Juliet[/name] has always been bright blue to me.

[name]Indigo[/name]: [name]Monday[/name]

I don’t know why, but when I think of [name]Indigo[/name], I think of a rainy day, and [name]Monday[/name] is a ‘rainy’ sort of name to me I guess. (Thats why I like it  )

~[name]Jasmine[/name]

[name]Violet[/name]: [name]Piper[/name]

Probably just because it sounds like purple, but it feels like a purplish name.

[name]Red[/name]: [name]Hayley[/name]

[name]Orange[/name]: [name]Vivienne[/name]

[name]Vivienne[/name] sounds like a fiery name to me, so it has an orange feel to it. =D

Yellow: [name]Lily[/name]

[name]Green[/name]: [name]Clover[/name]

Clovers are green.

[name]Blue[/name]: [name]Everly[/name]

Most Ev- names seem blue to me, I don’t really know why!

[name]Indigo[/name]: [name]Jane[/name]

[name]Indigo[/name] always makes me think of the plantation farms back in the day, and I recently watched The Autobiography of [name]Jane[/name] Pittman who was a slave.
