The Rivers: Final 6

I’ve been having huge trouble narrowing down my long list for girls name. I pretty much only know I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] Nefertari and want her to be centre of my list, otherwise I’m pretty lost. I’d really appreciate it if you’d spend some of your time helping me find 5 sisters to go with Nefertari.

I think my biggest issue is I have 3 distinctive kind of styles, the really unusual, the Spanish/Italian flair and the offbeat classics, and I feel like even when they overlap it feels slightly off for a sibset.

I’m also especially pondering the unity of having [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] as a sister to Nefertari, do they seem to fit?

So anyway, here are the names (not in any particular order)

[name_f]Hermione[/name_f] “[name_u]Hero[/name_u]”
[name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] “[name_f]Posie[/name_f]”
Hallelujah-[name_f]Rose[/name_f] “[name_u]Halle[/name_u]”
[name_f]Magdalene[/name_f] “[name_f]Lene[/name_f]”
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] “[name_f]Lucie[/name_f]”
[name_f]Catalina[/name_f] “[name_f]Cate[/name_f]”
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] '[name_f]Eva[/name_f]"
[name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] “[name_f]Lila[/name_f]”
[name_f]Galatea[/name_f] “[name_f]Tea[/name_f]”
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] “[name_u]Romy[/name_u]”
[name_f]Maria[/name_f] [name_f]Olympia[/name_f] “[name_f]Pippa[/name_f]”
[name_f]Serafina[/name_f] “[name_f]Fina[/name_f]”
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] “[name_f]Ella[/name_f]”
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Isobel[/name_f] “[name_f]Zoe[/name_f]”
[name_f]Alessia[/name_f] “[name_f]Sia[/name_f]”
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] “[name_f]Emi[/name_f]”
Lilinoe “[name_f]Lily[/name_f]”
[name_f]Xenia[/name_f] “[name_f]Nia[/name_f]”
[name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] “[name_m]Pippin[/name_m]”

Thank you so much for your help, or even just reading this. Any suggestions, feedback, anything you have to say would really really help!

I think [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is a bit too mainstream to work with Nefertari.
I’d pick [name_f]Hermione[/name_f], [name_f]Catalina[/name_f], [name_f]Galatea[/name_f], Lilinoe and [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m]. They’re unique and bold but not crazy hard to pronounce or spell.

I agree with emmievis that [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] and Nefertari don’t really work.

However, you have a gorgeous list and I can see [name_f]Hermione[/name_f], [name_f]Galatea[/name_f] or [name_f]Xenia[/name_f] being a sister for Nefertari. [name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] is purely a boy name for me and I think Hallelujah is too much for a child. Other than that, I think all your names would work well on a little girl.

I think Nefertari, [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f], [name_f]Galatea[/name_f], and [name_f]Xenia[/name_f] work the best together. I could only come up with three, I do agree it feels off when the styles over lap. Some suggestions of names with this style
[name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f]
[name_f]Urania[/name_f]
[name_f]Cytherea[/name_f]
[name_f]Atalanta[/name_f]
[name_f]Calanthe[/name_f]
Odyssey
[name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f]
[name_u]Calypso[/name_u]
[name_f]Emeraude[/name_f]
[name_f]Caledonia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ashira[/name_f]
Chione
[name_f]Zipporah[/name_f]
[name_f]Hadassah[/name_f]
Naunet
Anippe
[name_f]Nazneen[/name_f]
[name_f]Soraya[/name_f]
[name_f]Zephyrine[/name_f]

[name_m]Poseidon[/name_m], [name_f]Galatea[/name_f] and [name_m]Peregrin[/name_m] are the only three imo that go with Neferati. [name_f]Olympia[/name_f] would work too. I like the name [name_f]Electra[/name_f] with Neferati or Asterope and [name_f]Alcyone[/name_f]. Those are names of the Pleiades stars.

With Nefetari, I’d choose:

[name_f]Galatea[/name_f]
Lilinoe
[name_m]Peregrine[/name_m]
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Xenia[/name_f]

That way, for me at least, you don’t get caught in one style. They’re all unusual but different

I think [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is a little too mainstream next to Nefertari.

Any unusual, unique names from your list could work:
[name_f]Hermione[/name_f] “[name_u]Hero[/name_u]”
[name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] “[name_f]Posie[/name_f]”
Hallelujah-[name_f]Rose[/name_f] “[name_u]Halle[/name_u]”
[name_f]Magdalene[/name_f] “[name_f]Lene[/name_f]”
[name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] “[name_f]Lila[/name_f]”
[name_f]Galatea[/name_f] “[name_f]Tea[/name_f]”
Lilinoe “[name_f]Lily[/name_f]”
[name_f]Xenia[/name_f] “[name_f]Nia[/name_f]”
[name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] “[name_m]Pippin[/name_m]”

Thanks so much for your replies!

So far, I’ve cut down my list to 7 other names

[name_f]Hermione[/name_f]
[name_m]Poseidon[/name_m]
[name_f]Galatea[/name_f]
Lilinoe
[name_f]Xenia[/name_f]
[name_m]Peregrine[/name_m]
[name_f]Catalina[/name_f]

[name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] “[name_u]Riley[/name_u]” or “[name_f]Marie[/name_f]” is a possibility I quite like that, and I do like [name_f]Caledonia[/name_f] “[name_f]Callie[/name_f]” and [name_f]Electra[/name_f] a lot, but I dislike [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]. Is [name_f]Electra[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] kind of inevitable?

Thank you all so much, any response at all would be much appreciated!

I think an [name_f]Electra[/name_f] maybe get called [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], but [name_f]Electra[/name_f] isn’t too long to say. I think I’d be put off using a familiar nickname unless she introduced herself as such as it’s such a distinctive sounding name.
You have [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ella[/name_f] so could [name_f]Electra[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ella[/name_f] or [name_f]Elle[/name_f] be an option? Or [name_f]Electra[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ettie[/name_f]/[name_f]Etta[/name_f]

Of your list now, i think they all work with the exception of [name_m]Poseidon[/name_m]. It doesnt quite have the same vibe as the others
[name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] would be a great addition

Honest opinions on your list:

[name_f]Hermione[/name_f] “[name_u]Hero[/name_u]” - I like it, great mixture of unusual and familiar.
[name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] “[name_f]Posie[/name_f]” - I only like it on a boy.
Hallelujah-[name_f]Rose[/name_f] “[name_u]Halle[/name_u]” - Not my style, but I appreciate the spiritual meaning behind Hallelujah.
[name_f]Magdalene[/name_f] “[name_f]Lene[/name_f]” - I love this name, it’s stunning.
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] “[name_f]Lucie[/name_f]” - Again, not my style, but it’s perfectly fine.
[name_f]Catalina[/name_f] “[name_f]Cate[/name_f]” - I like [name_f]Catalina[/name_f], it’s pretty and not overused.
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] '[name_f]Eva[/name_f]" - I tend to agree with @emmievis here, I feel like [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is sort of bland compared to Nefertari.
[name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] “[name_f]Lila[/name_f]” - Beautiful name, familiar but not overdone.
[name_f]Galatea[/name_f] “[name_f]Tea[/name_f]” - One of my favorites for you, it would be an excellent choice.
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] “[name_u]Romy[/name_u]” - [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is one of my favorite names, and yet I don’t really think it sits well next to Nefertari. Something like Rosemarina would be a better fit.
[name_f]Maria[/name_f] [name_f]Olympia[/name_f] “[name_f]Pippa[/name_f]” - It’s quite nice but it sounds like a Greek princess while Nefertari has more of an Egyptian queen vibe.
[name_f]Serafina[/name_f] “[name_f]Fina[/name_f]” - See [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f].
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] “[name_f]Ella[/name_f]” - I like both the name and the Arctic Monkeys song,
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] - See [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f].
[name_f]Isobel[/name_f] “[name_f]Zoe[/name_f]” - See [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f].
[name_f]Alessia[/name_f] “[name_f]Sia[/name_f]” - [name_f]Alessia[/name_f] is the name that people in my country use when they’re trying to be “different”, and it’s difficult for me to take it seriously. Not a bad name, but it would not be my top choice.
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] “[name_f]Emi[/name_f]” - See [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f].
Lilinoe “[name_f]Lily[/name_f]” - I would not use it myself but I love it for you. [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] sound, too.
[name_f]Xenia[/name_f] “[name_f]Nia[/name_f]” - Living in Europe, I know a few Russian and Greek women named this, so I don’t really see it as unusual - in fact, I actually met a [name_f]Xenia[/name_f] just today. That being said, it’s quite pretty.
[name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] “[name_m]Pippin[/name_m]” - I prefer it on a boy, but I suppose it can be used for girls too.

My picks for Nefertari’s sisters:

[name_f]Hermione[/name_f]
[name_f]Magdalene[/name_f]
[name_f]Eulalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Galatea[/name_f]
Lilinoe

As for [name_f]Electra[/name_f], I like it a lot, it would be a great addition to your list.

@greyblue: [name_f]Etta[/name_f] is really pretty for [name_f]Electra[/name_f]!

@moonstone: thankyou for your opinions, the set you picked is really pretty and I like having that international perspective on my name list!
