The search continues....

After a few weeks questioning the final decision ([name]Carmen[/name] something something), we’ve decided to continue the search for babygirl #2.

I’m not sure of my naming style, as I like lots of different names for random reasons, probably a bit eccentric… Hubby is more youneek, eccentric I’m afraid.

In any event, the names I can’t get out of my head are (in no order)
[name]Carmen[/name]- obviously. However, dh wants to spell with a K which I don’t really like, and nn possibilities are slim and a stretch (I adore nn’s)
[name]Lucille[/name]- nn [name]Lulu[/name], or [name]Cilly[/name]! which i [name]LOVE[/name], however dh refuses to get on board
[name]Marielle[/name]
nn [name]Gwen[/name]- but I cannot commit to the heavy names that bring me to this gorg nn :frowning:
[name]Fatima[/name]/Fatemah- lovely, not so great on paper
[name]Gemini[/name]- can’t shake this guilty pleasure… [name]Baby[/name] will be an [name]Aries[/name] but I love the way it rolls off the tongue
[name]Kate[/name]- beautiful classic, but much too tame I’m afraid
[name]Catarina[/name]- swoon
[name]Roxanne[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name]- I [name]LOVE[/name] this name, cannot get hubby to agree :frowning:
[name]Sapphire[/name]- he does however like this gem…
[name]Faith[/name]
… You know now that I’m brainstorming, all the names I love are a bit of a blur. [name]Ah[/name], this naming a person thing is outrageous!

Husband likes [name]Egypt[/name] most of all. (which I really don’t mind, but it’s so short and different from our first daughter… and what the heck would her nn be??)
[name]Carmen[/name]
[name]Sapphire[/name] (which he wants pronounced suh-FIE-ree :?) but also accepts as saf-fire
[name]Carly[/name] or any other cutesy, trendy, nn name.
Imunique/Omunique :expressionless:
Oh, it doesn’t matter, we will not be choosing any of these! lol

I’m really just looking for more suggestions at this point. I know our taste varies a bit from the timeless names that Berries adore, ([name]Clementine[/name] is not my style, unfortunately) but I still love most classics, so I’m open to ideas! Again, I really love the longer name, with nn potential. Daughter #1 is [name]Brianna[/name] [name]Rae[/name], her name suits her perfectly  Beautiful and spunky and she goes by [name]Bri[/name].

Many thanks in advance!

[name]How[/name] about [name]Sapphira[/name]? That is more of a “real” name than [name]Sapphire[/name]. [name]Emerald[/name] can also be used as a name. [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Jade[/name], [name]Opal[/name], or [name]Jewel[/name] also come to mind since you like [name]Ruby[/name]. None of those really “go” with [name]Brianna[/name] though. I see you have [name]Kate[/name] on your list. [name]How[/name] about [name]Caitlin[/name] nn [name]Cate[/name]? That matches [name]Brianna[/name] better in style.

[name]Ruby[/name] is so cute, too bad hubby didn’t love it too. Here are some more ideas to keep you thinking. Good luck finding something you both love!
[name]Calista[/name]

poptart:
He likes [name]Sapphira[/name]! Def adding to the short list  Youre correct though, the gem names don’t go with [name]Bri[/name] at all, except [name]Ruby[/name] which I really can’t let go. It’s so full of spunk, but still lovely. [name]Do[/name] you have any suggestions for something spunky and feminine??

lis09:
Sat down with dh and we love a lot of your suggestions! [name]Marina[/name], [name]Estella[/name], and [name]Cecelia[/name] (which nn [name]Cilly[/name] would go wonderfully :stuck_out_tongue: ) struck a key. [name]Do[/name] you think the -a sound ending the name is too much on both girls? I’m very adhd about proportion, etc and I’m having a hard time seeing [name]Brianna[/name] next to something so similar (to me).

Thanks for your help, ladies! Giving me something to think about…
