winding down from work this evening, i’m watching some of my old favorite tv shows and (of course) making name lists.
i decided to try marie kondo-ing my name lists, rather, going through and choosing only names that spark joy. the final product is, names i could truly see on my children and the shortest list i’ve ever made!
they’re still pretty long, but still! i mostly made this post to serve as a book mark of this list, but i’d love to hear your thoughts. your favorites, least favorites, and for a bonus question… if you had to pick a name on this list for your son and daugher, what would their names be?
From these, my daughter would be [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f] and my son would be [name_u]Alden[/name_u] [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] [name_u]Huxley[/name_u], but there are tons of beautiful names!!
my favorites are edith, flora, florence, june, luella, opal, pearl, ruth, and thelma. for boys, i love autry, boone, jethro, finnian, ira, macsen, sawyer, thatcher, and wilder!

These lists are really gorgeous. So much fun, character, and room to grow in each of them. A balance of cool, country, and quaint, I think are the right analyses! I love the autumnally sunny feelings they give me.
I’d easily name my kids [name_u]Florence[/name_u] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Luella[/name_f] and [name_u]Wilder[/name_u] [name_u]Oakland[/name_u] [name_u]Jack[/name_u]. Thinking off the dome, their nicknames could be [name_f]Fleur[/name_f] and [name_u]Wiley[/name_u]. (Plus, lucky for me, all six of these names I’ve picked happen to be honors for me—and appear on both of our lists. )
Since I’ve sort of cheated though, I also want to choose names for kiddos that aren’t on my own lists. I’d go for [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] and [name_m]Twain[/name_m] [name_u]Autry[/name_u]. Nicknames [name_u]Wren[/name_u] (from ‘W’ and ‘bird’) and Watty!
