My Top 4 favorites from your choices are:

  1. [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] - This is by far my favorite from your list! It is beautiful!
  2. [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] - I really like [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], it is somewhat popular, I would make a decision based on how popular it is where you live.
  3. [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] - This one is growing on me.
  4. [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] - This name is fun to me, it has a very “happy” sound to me.

I am not a big fan of boy names for girls so for me [name_u]Rory[/name_u] and [name_m]Lennan[/name_m] are out for me. However, if you use [name_m]Lennan[/name_m] have you considered spelling it [name_m]Lennon[/name_m]?

Good luck in deciding!

I voted for [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], [name_u]Rory[/name_u] and [name_u]Harper[/name_u] because I like them best with [name_u]Owen[/name_u] and [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]

I have gone back and forth about the spelling of [name_m]Lennan[/name_m]/[name_m]Lennon[/name_m] for a girl. There seems to be a lot of backlash (on Nameberry in particular) about unisex/boy names for girls lately, but that is way more my style than the uber-feminine names like [name_f]Anastacia[/name_f] or [name_f]Gwenevere[/name_f] . I actually have both [name_m]Lennon[/name_m] and [name_u]Rory[/name_u] on my boys list as well. I thought [name_m]Lennan[/name_m] seemed like a more feminized spelling.

[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] is gaining an early lead. I’ve been shying away from it because I thought it was too trendy right now. [name_f]Kourtney[/name_f] Kardashian and [name_f]Tina[/name_f] [name_f]Fey[/name_f] have both used it and it has gone from 717 to 125 on the SS names list in the last decade. Thoughts?

I named [name_u]Owen[/name_u] when it was much further down the list and my husband made the call on [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]. I argued against it because it was so popular.

I love [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] and I like [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. I’m not super fond of any of the others.

I like [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Hattie[/name_f], and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]. The others aren’t bad, but are too unisex for my personal taste.

I love [name_f]Hattie[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_u]Rory[/name_u]. I have always had a soft spot for [name_u]Rory[/name_u]…

[name_m]Lennan[/name_m]— No. I can’t stand that [name_m]Lennon[/name_m] has become a name. It’s just so over-the-top Beatles, and now with the popularity of the YouTube girl, it just looks like you’re trying to copy her and make it youneek with the spelling change. Surname names on girls almost always don’t work, and this is no exception.
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]— A classic that I really love. It is SO adorable on a little girl, and grows up very nicely. I think NB said it best on the description for this name, “[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] is so rich, lush and luscious, it’s almost irresistible.”
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u]— I actually really like this name a lot. It’s rather unique yet it fits right in, with the popularity of “bell” names—[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Bella[/name_f], [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], etc. It has a sweet meaning (comes from the french “belle amie” which is a term of endearment for a friend, literally meaning “beautiful friend”) a feminine and pretty sound. It’s just a really great choice, I think. It would absolutely be on my list if I didn’t have a friend with a child named “[name_f]Bella[/name_f]” and if it wasn’t so alliterative with our last name.
[name_u]Harper[/name_u]— No. It’s likely at its peak of trendiness/popularity right now, and will be incredibly dated in 20 years. It doesn’t even have a nice sound or feeling about it—like this is someone who “harps on” people about stuff (to harp as in, to nag). I cannot for the life of me understand how it got such traction.
[name_u]Rory[/name_u]— Only if this is a nickname for something else. I rather like it as a nn for [name_f]Aurora[/name_f].
[name_m]Emmerson[/name_m]— I’m rather tickled that this has gotten 0 votes. I absolutely loathe this name for a girl. It is trendy in the worst possible way—it’s a surname name, a definitively masculine name (ALL -son names are—they mean “son of ___!”) a name that’s suddenly unisex when really it’s not. [name_m]Just[/name_m] an all-around awful modern name that makes no sense for a girl. It would maybe be okay for a boy if it hadn’t been transformed into a popular “girl’s” name.
[name_u]Rennie[/name_u]— It’s like a nickname, but for what exactly? No info on NB. If I heard it [name_m]IRL[/name_m] I would be puzzled. Or I might think the child’s actual name is “[name_f]Wren[/name_f].”
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]— Not a name I had on my radar until now—but I like it! [name_m]Just[/name_m] put it on my middle names list. Cool meaning/history/astronomy association, and a pretty sound.
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]— It is getting very popular, but remember that [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] isn’t “trendy” in the way that names like [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] are trendy. It’s not following a trend, it’s simply gaining popularity, and due to celebrity influence at that (which does bother me, but it might not bother you). It’s still a great name, and it’s still nowhere near the popularity or trendiness of [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Ava[/name_f], [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], etc.
[name_f]Hattie[/name_f]— I really love it, but I’d prefer it be a nickname for the full [name_f]Harriet[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], and [name_u]Emerson[/name_u]. I don’t like the way you are spelling [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] though. If you are going to still spell [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] with 2 m’s, then take my vote away for that one. I love the nickname [name_f]Emme[/name_f] (pronounced M-E) for [name_u]Emerson[/name_u]. [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] would be pretty.

I love [name_f]Penelope[/name_f].

I would prefer [name_f]Lila[/name_f] over [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], but [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] is okay.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] (pronounced Mad-uh-[name_f]LINE[/name_f])?
