[name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] - Quite seriously took me a week to actually recognize [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] as the only [name_f]Ada[/name_f] combo I loved. [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] has been on my list for a while. I really still quite like this and almost wish for twin girls just to use this name, along with another one from this list. [name_f]Annia[/name_f] [name_u]Marian[/name_u] - This has now just supplanted [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] to be in second place as my husband stared at my list and said ā[name_m]Ah[/name_m]-NEE-uh? Thatās nice.ā (If he likes it I like it, and of course he likes his Grandmotherās name in the middle). [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] - still a great name, a compromise between [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Ada[/name_f] that I really have fallen in love with, should I choose this, Iām sure it will be well received by both our families. [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f] - My inspiration is the similarities between [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Laura[/name_f] ([name_f]MIL[/name_f] is [name_f]Laura[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f]). This name makes the most sense, and is a very nice name. [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Nerys[/name_f] - The first name I came up with after a conversation with my [name_f]MIL[/name_f] about names, soon after my son was born. I wanted to gather some family names to use in the middle, but I soon loved [name_f]Clara[/name_f] enough to consider it as a first and [name_f]Nerys[/name_f] just fit this name. [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] - What more can I say? I think these names are perfect with each other. [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] - We came up with this shortly after our son was born. Itās beautiful meaning ā[name_m]Noble[/name_m] [name_f]Star[/name_f]ā and the fact we had an [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] Hepburn poster, gave me an almost instant image of a [name_f]Star[/name_f] themed Nursery. Still beautiful, still on the list, though slightly less favored now then our top two. [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] - I came to [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] from [name_u]Reagan[/name_u] originally wanting to spell it [name_f]Rea[/name_f], but preferred it with the H. [name_u]Reagan[/name_u] seems too clunky with our hyphenated last name and [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] was perfect. [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] - [name_f]Alice[/name_f], I still quite like [name_m]Eli[/name_m] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] together. Though number 9 on the list it canāt be discounted just yet. [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] - Though in my signature as [name_f]Hana[/name_f] [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], Iām correcting it to [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] which I feels goes much better with [name_f]Imogen[/name_f].
The Boyās name: If we get pregnant with a boy I only really have two names I absolutely love: [name_m]Ian[/name_m] [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] - [name_m]Ian[/name_m] is the Scottish variation for [name_m]John[/name_m], and [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] would work but I prefer [name_m]Ian[/name_m]. [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_m]Jose[/name_m] - [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] and [name_m]Jose[/name_m] are family names, [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] from his side and [name_m]Jose[/name_m] from my side. I like this and it just wins out every time I put [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] in the first name slot.
I love [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]! Gorgeousā¦ I do like [name_f]Irene[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] also.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is prettyā¦
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f]
Actually, you have a lot of my family names in your list:)
I really like [name_m]Ian[/name_m] [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] also:)
The female family names from husbands family are: [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_u]Marian[/name_u], [name_f]Irene[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and from mine is: [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. [name_f]Ada[/name_f] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] was inspired by [name_f]Adele[/name_f] which though pretty doesnāt quite work for us in its original form. [name_f]Annia[/name_f] is inspired by [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] and has the bonus of sounding like a variation of [name_f]Ann[/name_f]. Boys: [name_m]Calvin[/name_m]/[name_m]Jose[/name_m].
So in total: 6 actual family names, and 3 names inspired by family names.
I think itās neat that your family names are in this list, which oneās are those?
[name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] - A beautiful combo!
[name_f]Annia[/name_f] [name_u]Marian[/name_u] - this is pronounced [name_f]Ann[/name_f]-ee-uh, not [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-nee-uh. Like [name_f]Annie[/name_f] with an A on the end. However its a sweet name, but I dont like old fashioned [name_u]Marian[/name_u].
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] - I absolutely love this combo!
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f] - Sorry I dont like it. [name_f]Irene[/name_f] is old ladyish, and although [name_f]Nora[/name_f] can be pretty, it doesnt look nice in front of [name_f]Irene[/name_f]!
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Nerys[/name_f] - I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Clara[/name_f]! I think you could find a much prettier name to match though, other than [name_f]Nerys[/name_f].
[name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] - [name_f]Briar[/name_f] is such a lovely name. [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is nice too, but Iām not too fond of the combo. I think [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is too sickly sweet next to classical sounding [name_f]Briar[/name_f].
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] - [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is nice, especially when you think of the gorgeous [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] Hepburn. But [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] is just tooā¦harsh for me.
[name_f]Rhea[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] - I prefer the [name_f]Ria[/name_f] spelling, although I knew someone who spelt it [name_f]Rhia[/name_f]. [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is really nice.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] - This is one gorgeous, classical combo! [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_m]Eli[/name_m] do go lovely together, and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] is just so pretty!
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f] [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] - [name_f]Hana[/name_f] [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] is so much nicer. [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] is a bitā¦I dont want to say it butā¦ugly.
[name_m]Ian[/name_m] [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] - I love the name [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] but Iām not sure about [name_m]Ian[/name_m].
[name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_m]Jose[/name_m] - This is gorgeous. Maybe [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_m]Jase[/name_m] would be better though? I dont know why I dont like how [name_m]Jose[/name_m] looks. But hey its up to you.
Good luck, you have some winning combos there. My favourites are [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], and [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_m]Jose[/name_m]
Thank you for your reply carysmarie, in fact [name_f]Marie[/name_f] is a family name too, that may go better with [name_f]Annia[/name_f]. [name_f]Annia[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] is beautiful.
First off, you have some lovely names on here. I think you might just need to tweak some combos as about half of them just donāt flow off the tongue well. When Iām coming up with combos, I whisper them, yell them out loud, and āsingā themā¦like I would with my child at times. I try to avoid strong consonants in both names as that is one of the major reasons people get tripped up.
[name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] - Itās a fine combo, but seems a bitā¦bland. Too common and too ājust okay.ā
[name_f]Annia[/name_f] [name_u]Marian[/name_u] - Iāve only ever heard this name as [name_f]Ann[/name_f]-ee-uh, as said above. Regardless, I do not like [name_u]Marian[/name_u] with it (does not flow well and they are too similar). I see pronunciation issues all her life. So, no for me.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] - This has the best flow out of all of your combos, though [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is too common for me.
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f] - Iāve always disliked [name_f]Nora[/name_f] immensely. I donāt like that ānorā sound, it just makes me think of āsnore.ā About the combo, it doesnāt work well at all. Try saying it three times fast. Awful flow.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Nerys[/name_f] - Again, [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is common. But [name_f]Nerys[/name_f] doesnāt go well with it at all. Try switching up the number of syllables.
[name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] - I do like the combo and I love [name_f]Briar[/name_f].
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] - This is by far your best combo. I love it. My fiancee doesnāt like [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] at all, but I wish he did as it makes a great middle name! [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]'s cute and a little common but not nearly as much as some of the other names.
[name_f]Rhea[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] but this combo does not flow well and looks very strange written out. A longer middle would work better here. [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is so bleh right now and I never liked the sound of it.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] - This flows okay, but itās just not strikingā¦
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f] [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] - [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] does not go better. At all. Iād keep [name_f]Hana[/name_f] [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] if you must, but that doesnāt flow very well either.
[name_m]Ian[/name_m] [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] - I prefer [name_m]Ian[/name_m] as well and this combo is alrightā¦I feel like there are names that would work better with [name_m]Ian[/name_m] though.
[name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_m]Jose[/name_m] - This is a cool combo and I like it. I think a young boy would be proud of this name.
[name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] - [name_m]How[/name_m] are you pronouncing [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]? I think both pronunciations flow well but I prefer emma-LEEN. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Ada[/name_f].
[name_f]Annia[/name_f] [name_u]Marian[/name_u]/[name_f]Marie[/name_f] - When I say ā[name_m]Ah[/name_m]-NEE-uhā, it sounds a bit forced. I like [name_f]Annie[/name_f]-uh more but Iām not a huge fan of [name_f]Annie[/name_f] so I donāt love that pronunciation either. [name_u]Marian[/name_u] is okay and I prefer it over the much overused [name_f]Marie[/name_f].
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] - I donāt love how the end of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] flows into [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and I love [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] though and the combo is very classy.
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f] - I agree that the flow is a little off here. Maybe [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Eileen[/name_f]? I like [name_f]Nora[/name_f], its been growing on me.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Nerys[/name_f] - [name_m]How[/name_m] do you say [name_f]Nerys[/name_f]? Instinctively I say it ān-air-issā which does not sound very nice with [name_f]Clara[/name_f] (although maybe I should ask how youāre saying [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. I say it ācl-air-uhā). I like [name_f]Clara[/name_f] though.
[name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] - I love this!
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] - [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is a stunning name and I am beginning to like [name_f]Estelle[/name_f]. Usually I donāt love two vowel names together but thereās something vintage about this that I love.
[name_f]Rhea[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] - I am neutral on [name_f]Rhea[/name_f], itās a pretty sound but a bit simple for me. Definitely not [name_f]Grace[/name_f] though. Its very overused as a middle name. Something longer would work better with [name_f]Rhea[/name_f]. Maybe [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]?
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_m]Eli[/name_m] together! [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is soft and girly, I love it. I donāt like [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] very much but it sounds nice with [name_f]Alice[/name_f].
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f] [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] - Not a fan of either name, sorry. I donāt like [name_f]Hana[/name_f] either. [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] is just a bit dated for me and [name_f]Hana[/name_f] ([name_f]Hannah[/name_f]) is way too common where I live. I prefer [name_f]Johannah[/name_f].
[name_m]Ian[/name_m] [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] - I donāt like the two Nās at the end of these names. I like [name_m]Ian[/name_m] and [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] is nice though.
[name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_m]Jose[/name_m] - I like the family ties with this. [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] is, again, very nice. I donāt like [name_m]Jose[/name_m] but I understand its a family name.
[name_m]Hi[/name_m]ā¦ my family names are: [name_f]Irene[/name_f] (grandma)ā¦ [name_f]Clara[/name_f] (aunt and best friend)ā¦ [name_f]Ada[/name_f] (aunt) @nd
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f] is my cousin:)ā¦ I love your names!
