I don’t like matchy sibling names but in the middle it isn’t anywhere’s near as bad.
It’s not my style either, but I think middle names are where parents can go all out.
I actually really like this idea. My main issue is that [name]Isis[/name] and [name]Zeus[/name] aren’t from the same culture. I would use two Greek or two Egyptian, but not one of each personally.
I like it.
I would however prefer if a third child is given a name from another culture/mythology like the Norse. Giving one from the Greek mythology, one from Egyptian history and then another Greek one for instance, would just ruin everything for me. It would be totally mismatched.
If the Norse mythology was to be used next, I think Frej, [name]Thor[/name], Loke, [name]Odin[/name] (all B) or [name]Saga[/name] (G) would be nice for a third child.
shvibziks - that makes a lot of sense I really like [name]Thor[/name] and [name]Saga[/name] with the other two. I actually know a baby with the middle name [name]Thor[/name].
I think it’s cute as middle names! [name]Isis[/name] and [name]Zeus[/name] goes really well together as well.
The name [name]Isis[/name] itself is Greek, the Egyptian name was Ast. [name]Isis[/name] was also a quite unique phenomenon, she was worshipped in the [name]Greco[/name]-[name]Roman[/name] world as well as [name]Egypt[/name], so I think sticking with Greek would be fine. Personally I like a bit of this and that, unless you actually belong to one of these religions.
For a boy I think [name]Odin[/name] (from Norse) would be a terrific choice. Enlil (Sumerian), Mithra (Persian), Llyr (Welsh), Perun (Slavic) could be nice too.
For a girl I’d like Innana (Sumerian), Ishtar/Astarte (Babylonian), Epona (Celtic), Sif (Norse), Frigg (Norse), Idunn/[name]Idony[/name] (Norse), Urd (Norse), [name]Ziva[/name] (Slavic), [name]Ceres[/name] ([name]Roman[/name]) or [name]Juno[/name] ([name]Roman[/name]). [name]Zelia[/name]'s suggestion of [name]Saga[/name] would be terrific too.
They’re middle names so no big deal. Really, how many people’s mn do you know?
I love both and if they are in the middle, who cares? But I would love to see them in the first spot.
I plan to use [name]Isis[/name] as a nick name for [name]Isadora[/name]. It would be on a third daughter (if I had that many baby girls!).
The particular names aren’t my taste, but if it’s meaningful to the parents I don’t think it’s a bad thing. I’d rather have a middle with an interesting story than just be another [name]Jean[/name] or [name]Marie[/name].
