Three of my favorite boy names! Won’t actually be needing these for a while but would love to hear opinions on these for future reference.
Luca seems to really be creeping in popularity, and because Lucas is so popular I feel like many people will turn to Luca as an alternative.
I really like Theo by itself and not as a nn for Theodore. Do you prefer the full or short version?
I don’t think there are any issues with Hugo, but it may have a slightly harsher vibe compared to the softness of the other two lol.
Edit: Forgot to include Louis (loo-ee) which is also one of my favorites! Only issue with this name is that it would probably be pronounced like Lewis.
Which is your favorite and are there any others that have the same vibe? Thanks!
All three are lovely but my favourite is [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]! It’s vintage yet feels fresh and cool!
[name_u]Theo[/name_u] is nice but I prefer the elegance of [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]! [name_u]Luca[/name_u] is great too, but it’s similarity to [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] puts me off slightly. Theyre both good names though
My favorite is [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], followed closely by [name_u]Luca[/name_u]. [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] has grown on me a great deal. It is handsome, unusual enough (here in the states) to be wonderfully quirky, and pulls off a balance of strong yet soft. [name_u]Luca[/name_u] has been a longtime favorite of mine. My only two personal nitpicks of it are that an annoying amount of people see it as a girl name and that it is so close to [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] (a name I really dislike). [name_u]Theo[/name_u] is alright. I vastly prefer [name_m]Theodore[/name_m].
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is my favourite.
I only like [name_u]Theo[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_m]Theodore[/name_m].
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is my favourite I don’t think it has a harsh vibe at all
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.
All of your names are quite nice. [name_u]Luca[/name_u] is my favorite. It has sort of a mysterious vibe, but also feels artsy and kind. It is getting more popular than I realized. [name_m]Just[/name_m] checked it on the SSA website.
If you’re worried about popularity, I’d stay away from [name_u]Theo[/name_u] too. I feel like I hear that a ton (my newest baby nephew (([name_m]Theodore[/name_m])), actually!) I certainly prefer it as a nn for [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]; seems more complete. It is a great name handsome. Handsome, strong, classic and sounds like a smart and gentle guy. [name_u]Theo[/name_u] gives is a little spunk though.
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is super cute, & gives the same vibe as [name_u]Theo[/name_u] w/out the popularity.
[name_m]Louis[/name_m] is charming, but it will for sure be pronounced as [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] all of the time. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you not like [name_m]Louis[/name_m] said like [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]? I think it’s adorable, and use [name_m]Louie[/name_m] as a nn. That would avoid confusion. Or I suppose you could just do [name_m]Louie[/name_m], but that seems a bit cutesy for a full name.
A few others that you may like:
[name_u]Arlo[/name_u]/[name_u]Ari[/name_u]
[name_u]Asa[/name_u]
[name_u]Alfie[/name_u]
[name_m]Archer[/name_m]/[name_m]Archie[/name_m]
[name_u]August[/name_u]/[name_u]Gus[/name_u]
[name_m]Barnaby[/name_m]
[name_m]Charles[/name_m]/[name_u]Charlie[/name_u]-kind of popular, but so charming.
[name_m]Desmond[/name_m]/[name_m]Dex[/name_m]
[name_u]Ira[/name_u]
[name_m]Knox[/name_m]
[name_m]Milo[/name_m]-moving up in popularity like crazy though.
[name_m]Otis[/name_m]
[name_u]Remy[/name_u]
[name_u]Shiloh[/name_u]
[name_m]Simon[/name_m]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.
