My wife and I are really struggling as our son was just born. She likes [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], I’m not crazy about it but we both like [name_u]Theo[/name_u] - how solid is [name_u]Theo[/name_u] as a standalone name, are there other names? Also considering [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Richard[/name_m](my name, any help is greatybapprecoated. Thanks,

[name_u]Theo[/name_u] is quite popular as a standalone name, and from my experience, is generally well regarded. You and your wife need to decide how you feel about nicknames as first names. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is a commonly used name that is also a nickname, [name_m]Harry[/name_m] is another.
I am curious about your hesitation with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] while liking [name_u]Theo[/name_u]. You could always just refer to him as [name_u]Theo[/name_u]. Are you worried he will choose a different nickname?
