Theo’s sister- thoughts on my list

I’m back at it after a month of lurking and getting name ideas :joy:. I’ve got a list and would love some opinions on it. Brother is Theodore/Theo and if we had another boy it would be William/Liam (family name). Thoughts on:

-Daisy (too cutesy? Does this age well?)
-Alexandra (nickname [name_u]Alex[/name_u] or Allie… don’t love [name_u]Lexi[/name_u] or Alexa)
-Eleanor (do you like the nn [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Elle[/name_f], or [name_f]Ella[/name_f]? [name_u]Or[/name_u] do you prefer one of those nicknames as a stand alone name?)
-June

Open to suggestions/interpretations/all around help. Feeling a little all over the place.

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] would be my first choice with the nn [name_f]Elle[/name_f], second choice would be [name_u]June[/name_u]

[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and [name_u]June[/name_u] are my favorites! I adore Elaanor, but… [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] rhyme a little too much for me. Quite sing-songy. I love [name_f]Nora[/name_f] as an alternative!

[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
I prefer [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] ‘Daisy’ to just [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] in her own. I have a cousin named [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] ‘Daisy’ who wears is so beautifully—I really love that name and nickname. I think this way it’s more cohesive with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], too.

[name_u]June[/name_u]
What a delight. She’s perfect as is. Definitely my top choice on your list!! I love the bright spirit and sunshine in this name.

[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
Totally works with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] ‘Theo’! I think [name_u]Theo[/name_u] je [name_f]Nora[/name_f] are a gorgeous pair for siblings.

So I feel like [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] & [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] suit [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] the best. I would knock [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] out because [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] & [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] rhyme, which irks me, but maybe it works for you! I think [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is great with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] though.

I love [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]! It’s so strong and classic. I would argue somewhat underused these days. I like [name_u]Alex[/name_u] or [name_u]Allie[/name_u], but also maybe [name_u]Andi[/name_u], [name_u]Xan[/name_u] or Xana?

[name_u]June[/name_u] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] are sweet, but do feel a bit casual with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m].
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] “Daisy” could be a fun option for you.

[name_u]Or[/name_u] maybe:
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] “Lou/Lulu”
[name_f]Natalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is darling & [name_u]William[/name_u] would be perfect for a brother.

Here are my thoughts on the girl list:

Daisy-I love love [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. And I also fear sometimes that it’s too cute. Maybe [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] from The Great [name_m]Gatsby[/name_m] helps? She’s pretty adult, right? :joy: I just love the beautiful flower imagery that this name brings, and it’s just impossible to say without a smile. It’s perfect with [name_u]Theo[/name_u]. [name_f]Vintage[/name_f] and simple & just a bit quirky & fun but not too quirky.

[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] (Alex or Allie)-Hm. I don’t know why, but I find [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] a little clunky. And [name_u]Alex[/name_u] is too boyish for my tastes. [name_u]Allie[/name_u] is fine, but maybe a little dated. Like, it was really popular 15-20 years ago. I don’t like [name_u]Lexi[/name_u] or [name_f]Alexa[/name_f] too. I think that you could probably avoid those if you called her [name_u]Allie[/name_u]. I don’t know if these are too far of a stretch, but I like the nns [name_f]Ana[/name_f], [name_f]Ani[/name_f], [name_f]Anya[/name_f] or [name_f]Anda[/name_f].

Eleanor-I love [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. It’s bold and feminine & classic. I like [name_f]Nora[/name_f] & [name_f]Ella[/name_f] a lot, but I think that [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] nn [name_f]Nora[/name_f] or [name_f]Ella[/name_f] makes more sense. I like the nns [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] or [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. I definitely think that [name_f]Nora[/name_f] can be a stand alone name. And maybe [name_f]Ella[/name_f].

June-That’s kind of fun. I like that it’s old fashioned, simple & unexpected. And the nn [name_f]Junie[/name_f] is really cute.

[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is too [name_m]Roosevelt[/name_m] in my opinion, both great names on their own though. I think [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], “Theo and Alex” is cool, both longer names with four letter nicknames.

I think [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] ages well, and works with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. Try watching “Driving Miss Daisy” if you want to see it on an old woman.
I like [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], too.
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] sound a bit alike for me, but it does fit with the general style you’ve got going, and it’s a great name. I might go with [name_f]Ella[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Nora[/name_f] to get away from the same sounds.
[name_u]June[/name_u] is really sweet if she’s born in [name_u]June[/name_u]. (I’m one of those people that get irked by that stuff–most seem not to.)

I don’t think you need suggestions, but lists are fun!

my thoughts !!

daisy - so cute, but theodore and daisy just seems incomplete to me. like daisy just needs to be more idk, long? not sure how to describe it but like it 100% could work as an aged name, just that middle - college time frame would be a little awkward imo.

alexandra - this is so pretty! on the otherside, i feel like it’s so strong with theodore. maybe its just me, but i find theodore very soft and alexandra very electric!

eleanor - this is my fav ! i love eleanor, and the vibes are perfect with theodore. just reiterating the nor- ending similarity, but i think its fine

june - so so cute! same problem with daisy though, it just feels very lonesome to me

[name_u]Love[/name_u] your opinion thanks for sharing !! Question- what nickname would you like for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]? I just KNOW it would get shortened in daily life based on my experience with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. He’s pretty much always called [name_u]Theo[/name_u] by everyone else. I don’t love the most natural nickname of [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (Ellie) because it feels so common lately.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] suggestion of [name_f]Alice[/name_f] :purple_heart:

[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] “Alex” and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] “Nora” are my favorites, but paired with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] I’d have to agree that [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is a little too sing-songy. So my vote goes to [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]! [name_u]Alex[/name_u] and [name_u]Theo[/name_u] are so, so sweet together!!!

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is my favourite for you. [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] nickname is actually [name_f]Nell[/name_f], but from your options I love [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. I love both [name_f]Nell[/name_f] and [name_f]Norah[/name_f] (this spelling) as stand-alones, but to balance Theo’s name, I’d go for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] with a diminutive.

[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] - love it! Sweet, bright and confident. I think it ages fine

[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] - it’s okay. I find it a bit meh, but there’s nothing wrong with it and it makes a good, solid choice.

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] - gorgeous and elegant! I prefer [name_f]Elle[/name_f] or [name_f]Nora[/name_f]!

[name_u]June[/name_u] - sweet, simple and elegant.

I think [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] or [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] would be my choice!

[name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] came to mind

You have a lovely shortlist :white_heart:

[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] ~ she’s sweet, floral, delicate choice with a sweet 1920s flapper girl vibe. A youthful choice and sounds fashionable with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] but maybe lacks the same level of substance that [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] has but I could be a bit picky as I love your list I need to whittle it down somehow. I think [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] does age well I know Daisy’s of all different ages so I think she works.

[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] ~ absolutely gorgeous! I adore [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] she’s strong, elegant, regal, timeless and nowadays unexpected. I have not encountered any baby Alexandra’s and would love to meet one. For me [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] has tons of sentiment so this name makes me smile. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] & [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] are stunning. I like [name_u]Allie[/name_u] & [name_u]Alex[/name_u] nicknames and I think if you preserve with these they’ll stick especially [name_u]Alex[/name_u] which feels very intuitive. Anyways I love!

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] ~ another wonderful option she’s elegant, has subtle cottagecore imagery especially paired with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. [name_u]Truly[/name_u] adorable pairing. I love all the nickname options especially [name_f]Ella[/name_f] (my daughter second middle name) but I love [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] more with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m].

[name_u]June[/name_u] ~ a lovely summery vintage name that feels bright and happy. I wouldn’t naturally pair [name_u]June[/name_u] & [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] together but they are sweet.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] I just love her but I think all of them work so maybe wait till the delivery room and figure out which one suits her. If you are blessed with a daughter that is!

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps

I love the thought of [name_u]June[/name_u] ! It’s actually one of my very favourite names

However if I were solely picking one of your top names to go with big brother it was be [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is similar to [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] in popularity, and it seems you love the nickname versatility

[name_u]Theo[/name_u], William… both classic names, but you’ve got daisy on your list, so this may not feel too weird, but i imagine a sister to those two (or just [name_u]Theo[/name_u] if that happens), as [name_u]Esmé[/name_u]. Maybe from the longer name [name_f]Esmerelda[/name_f]?

[name_u]Theo[/name_u], [name_u]Liam[/name_u] and [name_u]Esmé[/name_u]

[name_f]Nell[/name_f] is my favorite nn for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is great but does feel a bit short compared to your kids so maybe as a nickname for something like [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]?

ella is what my friend goes by, but heres some other ideas!

nora
ella
leonora (stretch)
lea
leo
nelly
