I DH and I both love the name [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] for a boy, but I was working today and I received an email from a [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] nn [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] and thought it was so unique. I’ve heard it before, but actually connecting with someone with the name felt cool.
Anyways, this is just for fun to see if you prefer [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] on a boy or [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] on a girl? What are some nicknames you would use?
For a boy, I would prefer [name_u]Theo[/name_u] as a nn, but for a girl, I really like how spunky [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] is.
I prefer [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] for a boy, but I’m generally not a fan of such blatant feminizations of male names personally. [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] is a name with a lot of history, so I don’t think there’s anything objectively wrong with it.
If you use [name_f]Theodora[/name_f], I think you could still use [name_u]Theo[/name_u] as a nickname, or possibly [name_f]Thea[/name_f] if the former is too masculine for you. There’s also the option of [name_f]Dora[/name_f].
I much prefer [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] for a boy. I am not fond of [name_f]Theodora[/name_f]. I am also not fond of [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] on a girl. [name_f]Adore[/name_f] [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] for a boy. Actually I prefer [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] over [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] as a stand alone name.
I’m not a fan of [name_f]Theodora[/name_f], so I prefer [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and I like [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] and [name_u]Theo[/name_u] as nicknames. I find [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] rather clunky. I’ve always found it a bit curious that it gets a ton of love on here, but other clunky-ish feminizations of male names such as [name_f]Jamesina[/name_f], [name_f]Thomasina[/name_f], and Phillippa don’t seem to have the same appeal for people.

I have a friend named [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] nn [name_u]Theo[/name_u]. I prefer [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] (though [name_f]Theodosia[/name_f] is my favorite [name_u]Theo[/name_u]- name)
I like both, but I prefer [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] for its quirkiness factor. I also [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]Theo[/name_u] and [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] as nicknames for a girl.
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is very handsome and I like [name_u]Theo[/name_u] and Ted/[name_u]Teddy[/name_u] on a boy too, but it’s really quite popular at the moment, at least where I live. I know it shouldn’t, but that always takes the shine off a name for me.
