I’m pretty sure we’re choosing between [name]Barnaby[/name], [name]John[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name] for our baby if he is a boy. If we have a girl she will be called [name]Judith[/name] [name]Evelyn[/name] ([name]Judy[/name]). I am also still loving the name [name]Barney[/name] perhaps more than both of the other 2 but it didn’t get a very warm reception. So, what do you think?
[name]Barnaby[/name] is my favorite from your list. It’s very cool and vintage feeling and you get to use [name]Barney[/name], which you love. [name]Barnaby[/name] [name]Evelyn[/name] sounds fine to me ^_^.
I do think [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Evelyn[/name] sounds really nice too so it would be my second pick.
Why don’t you take all three names to the hospital with you and decide which best “suits” the little guy when you meet him. He may look like a [name]Barney[/name] - or not.
I love [name]Theodore[/name], I like [name]Barney[/name]/[name]Barnaby[/name] and don’t mind [name]John[/name].
I agree with [name]Mischa[/name], meet the little guy and see who he likes!
I know a lot of people didn’t like [name]Barney[/name] because of the dinosaur association, but I wouldn’t worry too much about that. Your son’s generation might see re-runs of it, but its not nearly as popular or hyped as it once was. It is not like [name]Elmo[/name], where the name will probably be permanently linked to the character. There are other associations that [name]Barney[/name] is linked to, so it makes it more usable imo.
Thankyou everyone, I didn’t phrase the [name]Barney[/name] thing very well. I love [name]Barney[/name] the best of all the names however [name]Barnaby[/name] is my least favourite of the full names. It’s only there because it was suggested as a more acceptable full name than [name]Barney[/name] alone. Good point about the choosing when we meet him.
I think it’s great that you want to use [name]Evelyn[/name] to honor your grandfather.
With [name]Evelyn[/name]'s popularity for girls I would probably choose a very definitely masculine name for a son.
I expect he would be teased for his middle name and a less difficult first name would probably be welcomed.
I really love [name]Theodore[/name] and think that [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Evelyn[/name] would be an AMAZING combo.
[name]John[/name] would be my second choice. [name]Johnny[/name] ([name]John[/name] E) would also be a great nn option.
In all honestly I am not a fan of [name]Barnaby[/name] it reminds me too much of barnacles and subsequently think of barnacle like growths on peoples faces. I just can never get past that image.
