What do you think of this name? The song from [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m] is so lovely I’m considering it for a middle! Pronounced Thee-uh-do-juh (the ending is kinda like the jah in [name_m]Elijah[/name_m]).
I like that it is uncommon and unique in that way. I think the name itself would have to grow on me a bit. Definitely better as a middle name than a first [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
[name_f]Theodosia[/name_f] is a great name-- first or middle! [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] would be a great sister.
Not a fan. It feels very clunky.
I fellin love with [name_f]Theodosia[/name_f] after hearing the the song from [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m]. [name_m]How[/name_m] can you not!
I think it’s great for a first or middle. I love the nn possibilities too…[name_f]Thea[/name_f] and [name_u]Teddy[/name_u].
As a historian of early Christianity, I love it when slightly clunky, classic Greek and [name_m]Roman[/name_m] names make a comeback I think you’re on the cutting edge of the trend here with [name_f]Theodosia[/name_f]–think of [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]'s rapid rise a few years ago!
Plus, [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_u]Theo[/name_u] are already popular for boys, so I think the transition to [name_f]Theodosia[/name_f] isn’t a radical one.
I like how it looks, and the length and almost clunky elegance of [name_f]Theodosia[/name_f]. I’m not a fan of the sound because of the ‘sia’ part though, I had thought it was see-uh or zee-uh, but juh seems more accurate. I think it’s perfectly usable, and it has a historic feel which adds something to it.
(aaaah i also really love hamilton rip)
I think it’s pretty, not my style though since it’s an old lady name in Greece
But it’s elegant while also being really cute and has some wonderful nicknames, go (wait) for it!
I’m really not a fan. I just feel like it’s quite clunky, with a pronounciation that doesn’t intuitively go with the spelling, and any child with the name would surely be set up for years of denying her name was [name_f]Theodora[/name_f].
I really love it. I think it’s much prettier than [name_f]Theodora[/name_f].
I like it, though i pronounce it differently. I think its pretty, and i like the potential nns.
I like the name because of the history behind it, same for [name_f]Theodora[/name_f].
I like the name but it seems a mouthful. I’ve never seen [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m] (it’s not currently performed outside of the US) and I would never have guessed it would be pronounced with the “juh” sound. I would have thought it was thee-uh-DOH-zhuh or thee-uh-DOH-zee-uh.
I love this name! It’s not exactly my style, but it’s one that has made me question wether or not it should still be on my lists anyway before.
I like [name_f]Theodosia[/name_f].
I want to like it but I can’t. It feels too pretentious/trying too hard. I like [name_f]Thea[/name_f] though.
I like [name_f]Theodosia[/name_f]. I also like other ‘clunky’ names like [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f], and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f].
